A Day At the Park

August 27, 2015 4:54pm CST
I took my daughters to the park today. They have a 50 foot slide. It used to go a lot faster, but now they did some upgrades to it to slow it down to make it "safer". It was the first time I had been there since the shooting at the beginning of this year. It was a really sad day, but felt good to go back.

It was a shooting in my local town at the beginning of the year. The shooter was depressed and went on a shooting spree killing a 10 year old daughter and her dad. The younger siblings and mom was with too. It was a really sad event for the town.

@dashboardc33 This place is sick with the shootings everyday. Sorry to hear that friend. It can happen anywhere too.

I would find it hard to go back to the park after an incident like the one you describe in the comments below. But I suppose that making better memories there is the key to forgetting the bad things.
