One More Time

On the weekends I enjoy spending more time with hubby. Ever so often we will sit and watch movies together. Hubby is very picky when it comes to what he will watch. Well, last night we lucked out on AMC with a couple of movies we both enjoy watching. 'The Green Mile' with Tom Hanks first and then 'Shaw Shank Redemption' with Morgan Freeman. Both of us have seen these two movies umpteen times, but we still will watch them every time we catch them on. Is there a movie you can watch over and over, no matter how many times you have seen it?

I like Tom Hanks as an actor. He has starred in all different roles. Can't forget run forest run and the talking soccer ball that was my favourite.

@TexanTornado Like a lot of actors and people :-) I see his aging some now but I think he has some good roles in him still. Can't turn down a good movie with him in it.

Yes, Tom has made some good movies. Forest Gump and Castaway were both good movies. I likes those also.

I think my favorite of all time, is Sound of Music. O usually don'tlike musicals. but I love the storyline, and the cast of characters as well. I can watch that one over and over and never tire of it.

@TexanTornado Yes, if there is no storyline, then to me, all it is, is just singing.

I'm not a big fan of musicals either. It's as you said, I think it has more to do with the story line then anything.

I have seen both those movies and they were good ones, but I shy away from watching them again because I really hate movies with violent scenes. Yet, Terminator doesn't bother me. Maybe it's realistic violence that upsets me. The Terminator couldn't ever be real. I don't think so, anyway.

Ah, so if the stuff couldn't possibly be real then it's ok. I guess in a round about way I can understand that. No, I don't think the 'Terminator' could be real.

@TexanTornado Isn't he still acting and is a former governor of the state of California? @Rollo1 I know I don't like the graphical real life things either. I get the point don't show me everything. I can't believe once in a movie house these people sitting behind started laughing at a scene where someone got shot. What is wrong with some people? It was the movie "Fury" excellent sound track and historical.

@allknowing Bravo! Bravo! You done an excellent job. And yes, I will sing with the car radio, but I make sure to have the music cranked up loud enough, so no one can hear me.

Both are classic movies. Perhaps you can sing a few bars?? I would, but I promise you no one would want that.

@TexanTornado the 10th kingdom was a mini series first... so if you watch it in one sitting it takes 4 hours haha. And the last unicorn was made in the early 90s late 80s

I dont have company when it comes to movies specially English ones from Hollywood or elsewhere. I have seen both of the above and have loved the Shawshak Redemption more. I love his voice and that was the reason I saw The Lego Movie too (okay, there was Batman too). Well, There are a set of movies that I can watch (and have watched n number of times). Amongst the ones from my country (Bollywood) - I have loved Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge - this one got into the Book of Records for being the first movie to run/being shown for continuously 1000 Weeks (and it has been about 20 years. I have seen this over 200 times now and I am not over quoting it. This is one movie that has shaped up much of my life. It came out when I had just finished my college. From Hollywood, there are quite a few. Scent of a Woman (Al Pacino - loved a lot if things in this one), Cast Away (Tom Hanks - Survivor marooned on an island), Mrs Doubtfire (the love of a dad for his kids), Good Morning Vietnam (the voiceovers and the life at Vietnam back then), Jumanji (I love this one and would love to get involved in one such game) (Robin Williams), Driving Miss Daisy (lovely movie with a wonderful relationship), Angels Sing and The Schindler's List. I know The Schindler's List is not an apt one for a regular watch, but for me, each time I have watched it, I have loved to "live" more, contribute more to whoever I can.

@TexanTornado It was a worldwide release, maybe with a different name in English version (there have been movies that have a different when they are dubbed in other languages). This is the page from Wiki, hope that might help

I have never heard of the Bollywood movie in which you mentioned. Is this a movie restricted only to your country? Oh, yes, I have seen all the Hollywood movies in which you mentioned, and liked them all.
