Nostalgic Video Games

United States

What are some video games you played as a kid or teenager that you get an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia for? Growing up, I played a ton of different games, mostly for the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and GameBoys. My absolute biggest game I was obsessed with was Pokemon, and my brother and I have such a sentimental attachment to the game that we are getting matching sibling tattoos based on it. It's a game that we bonded over and what brought us closer together as brother and sister.

@RachelDSims24,when I was free, there were no video games available in this small town of ours. And now when I lack time, there are a lot of them.I rarely have time to enjoy video games.

You're from India, right? I've heard that electronics and video games are very expensive over there, which is really a shame, because they are so much fun. What are some games that you can recall seeing that you're interested in playing?

@RachelDSims24 not every electronic or game is expensive here. Products of apapple and sony are bit costly. But it is always great to be an Indian

@mkg123 That's wonderful to hear. I love learning about different people from all different countries. What are your favorite things about India?

I grew up mainly playing SNES. I liked roll playing games. Final Fantasy III and Breath of Fire. I remember when the first Donkey Kong Country came out. We rented it from Blockbuster and I beat it in a weekend.

I love RPGs, but those were a little before my time. I played Final Fantasy 4 and 7, which I suppose are why I'm a big fan of turn-based fighting games (just like Pokemon).

@RachelDSims24 You know, out of all the games I have played in my life I have never played a pokemon game.

@nonersays That's so sad... They're so wonderful. Playing them for the first time as an adult won't nearly be as magical and fulfilling, though. I've been playing Pokemon since I was eight years old.

Growing up, we didn't have Playstation. I was in the first generation to have video games. I will never forget Pong, lol. But my all time favorite has to be Demon Attack for the Atari. I still miss my Atari, I should never have given it away.

I'm sure you could find one online for real cheap, if you ever wanted it for sentimental value. Those things are pretty indestructible!

Anything with "Dragon" in the title always sounds fun. Haha. I played a lot of Dynasty Warriors growing up as well, but never had the Sega or SNES, so I never played those games.

Yes it is! I'm a huge fan of Mortal Kombat, although I didn't get into it until recently. Have you played the most recent one? The graphics are so detailed and gory, it's so much fun to watch.
