Thinking of stepping down

It's been a handful of months thinking about this. Now I do but then I don't. A lot has changed at the shelter, and I know I should wait it out. But its not the same a lot of people arn't there for the animals, we are all volunteers and suppose to look at the animals. Now if I step down and leave the shelter the department will be shut down. It's rather sad as the last 4 years I have held it up, through other people being the corrdinators I have been running around holding it up.
I have been taking more days off, as I just need to get out of the rut. It comes down to a pile of people wanting power, and the place run how they want it. They are destroying it for everyone else. I know it takes up a lot of my time now, and I have gotten all my animals from the shelter. I love seeing the animals go to a home, and getting updates. But again the money and effort they keep expecting more, or coming at us.

Sounds like a really sad situation. The point of volunteering at a shelter is to help the animals not a thirst for power. I would personally try to get a program going that will try to calm things down and set things straight. I hope the situation gets better and just do whatever you think is right for yourself and for the shelter.

It is very sad. A few of us are in the same situation the attacks are not against us or our small animal department. But we are volunteering, and we're walking around on eggshells doing it. There is 1 girl who is trying to get power and take over the place, yet they are allowing it.
