I am using my credit card for online buying, but do not reveal the pin number. In India when we used credit card on line buying we got the confirmation message from the banker they will send a one time password we have to use that one time password to complete the transaction.

Yes, it is, provided that you are sure that it's a reputable company you're dealing with and that the site you are using to enter the information is a secure one - that is, it has an 's' after the 'http'. Always look at the URL in your browser when you are about to type in your credit card number or other details. If it has 'https at the beginning, you can be sure that the data you are sending will be encrypted and that the site has paid for a certificate.

yep it's quite safe depending on which websites you go to. If you have your own computer, it is best to get a good anti-virus that isn't free and update it regularly to be sure you are protected from viruses and malware.

Most places are safe, but no place is 100% safe. Cyber crime is big business and there are millions if not billions of people out there who don't want to work for a living and steal credit card info instead.
Hubby and I opened a second account specifically for online payments. We don't use it anywhere else. If it's compromised we can shut it down without harming anything else.
