India is about to celebrate Teacher’s Day on 5th September. Usually, celebration of Teacher’s Day is an interesting affair in the schools. Most of the Indians know that 5th September was the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a teacher, a thinker, a philosopher, a writer, a national leader thereafter he held the position of 1st Vice President of India and finally the 2nd President of India.
Today, I am not in a mood to write on some serious subject or hold a discussion on weighty issue. Rather. I would love to know your answer on few simple questions. They are:
1. Whom do you consider a teacher in your life?
2. How many teachers groomed you and how?
3. What do you feel about your teachers?
4. Share your experience, sweet or bitter, regarding your teacher.
Let’s see what comes out!

I believe a good teacher is one who encourages you to live up to your fullest potential. I had one teacher who told me that I had it in me to become someone.. she sowed a seed of faith in my life. I can never forget her.. I found her after 20 years and thanked her for doing what she did.. the funny thing was she didn't even know what I was talking about.

@sofssu The lookout of a student changes when his/her teacher shows believe in him/her which leaves a positive impact. This is very important for a student's proper growth.

@Shampasaid Not just the student from an academic perspective.. but they build a human being as a whole from the way they respond to them.

@sofssu Absolutely correct! Such teachers impact the basic traits of a student and transform them into a good person.

I believe everyone you meet has the opportunity to be a teacher if you let them. That's how I like to approach meeting new people and interacting with people. Even the worst person you can think of teaches you something, even if it's just how not to act or what not to do.
I've had some pretty epic teachers throughout my life, from elementary school teachers who supported and encouraged my love for learning to high school teachers who believed in me so much that they took risks with me and pushed me ahead. I skipped quite a few prerequisite classes in high school because a teacher believed in my ability so much that they wanted me in their class and I didn't want to take the prerequisites. :) I even had a Spanish teacher who, when I decided I wanted to take French after four years of Spanish, took her free period every day to privately tutor me so that I could go from French I to French III in a single year, including taking the proper exams.
I've had awesome managers, coworkers, people who show me things I didn't know, even if it's as simple as how to interact with other people. Then, of course, there's my family (parents, grandparents, siblings, etc) and my husband and daughter, all of whom teach me on a regular basis new and wonderful things. :)

@phyrre What a resemblance in your and my thought. In my next post I have echoed the same opinion but only difference is I have not included the people who were rude and unjust to me. Yes, you are right that these people made us learn what good is and bad is then only we can choose the correct path.

I can remember each and every teacher I have had since school, college and post graduation days and each of them have left a mark on me in some subtle way.I still meet some of them and feel happy when I see how they look forward to meeting their old students and I know the feeling because I am a teacher too.. Ultimately it is all about building a rapport with your students which helps in their absorbing the subject you teach ..

The teacher i like best was my teacher in Grade 1 . She is a very good and honest teacher . She would always let her helper cook those donated food stuff like bulgur , bread , butter from other countries and let us have it for our snacks in the afternoon . Sad that she finally is with God now , just this year . So kind person .
