So I love shopping... who doesn't? but it seems like everything just gets more and more expensive and it's driving me crazy! What's worse is the more expensive stuff isn't always better quality and that's even worse! Does anyone else feel this way or am I just crazy?

No it is a good point you make Heather.
Sometimes paying more for stuff does not make it better, sometimes worse quaility.
It is a shame.

@TiarasOceanView It's true. I think we all have a piece of it too... I am by nature a giving person, if you need something and I can help you get it or give it to you I will. I do everything I can to try and help others and make them happy. but even I find myself trying to figure out ways to get more money and "things" it's a vicious cycle that unfortunately is hard to escape because we need money and things to survive

You're seeing the prices of goods and services increasing as it has always done, except this time the wages aren't increasing to keep pace.
I remember the days candy bars were bigger and only fifteen cents, a loaf of bread was forty five cents and watching a movie was only two dollars. Some really old folks can remember watching a movie was only a nickel, but then again average wages was a dollar a week.
As far as quality, every manufacturer makes their stuff as cheaply as possible... I miss the days when things were made of metal.

It used to be you could buy a gumball in a machine for one cent now it has gone up to what a dime or a quarter, Unbelievable.

I remember that too! I used to earn chore money and go to the store and get penny candies! it was amazing! now it costs almost a dollar to buy the same thing!
it's true companies are just trying to make things at as low a cost as possible. I don't know if I'd want everything made of metal though... might be really uncomfortable

I have noticed that things are becoming more expensive and the quality has gone down. Some of the clothing made is made so shabby it doesn't last more than a few washings.
Why are we subjected to this shoddy workmanship from abroad and why do we stand for it.

Agreed! Honestly it seems like people are so greedy and want everything for nothing so those who are making things are just doing it as cheap as possible so they can make more profit... and those who have genuine skill can't get jobs in the industries for decent wages... it's all a big mess

Yes with so many jobs going offshore we have lost a lot of good workers who haven't been able to find jobs.
I hate cheaply made things, anything and if it does not last long I let the store where I bought it know I am very unhappy.
Not only people but companies don't seem to have the same values they used to it is all a Big Mess.

@Marcyaz I agree it's ridiculous! even customer service being sent offshore are just so the companies can save money, when there are so many qualified people here. I wish we could all live on values and morals... go back to a trading system instead of the money crap. I do something for you you do something in return. you need something I will help you out. that's kind a how I live my life if I have something and someone needs it I am more than happy to give it to them.

Right you can buy one pair of jeans of a certain brand yet you buy another one you don't try on and when you go out and try that second pair on they don't fit.
It is the same way with shoes and many other things.
I think that is why I don't care so much for shopping anymore.

Right?!?! I go into stores and almost always just go straight to the clearance to see if it's worth it! sometimes it is.. but then you have to try everything on too cause sizes don't fit the same between brands and even colors sometimes
