How Things Can Change Over The Years.

When I was young, my favorite color was blue. I didn't really know a lot about colors except for the basic, primary colors. As I got older, my favorite color changed and was red. I loved any and everything red but it had to be the right shade of red as some reds are a little too orange. About 6 years ago, I found myself really loving the color purple. Especially in flowers. Although I would love to have a flower garden with all different colors, I would definitely have a lot of purples between all the other colors. So I guess it has changed again and purple is now my favorite color. Are you like me and have changed your favorite color over the years or has it always been the same? What is your favorite color?

I have different colors that I like, it depends if it's for clothes, interior design or flowers. I have not changed the colors I like over the years, I still love pastel colors, ivory, magnolia, light blue, yellow, peach and pink.

@SIMPLYD I do not look good both wearing blue, green and red. I have fair skin complexion, green eyes and light brown hair, I need light colors. I look great wearing yellow, this is something that seems to surprise everybody.

I like any shade of blue and purple. I have always like blue for the most part, but since I have worked with purple in my crafts, I decided I like that color as well.

@simone10 I have made things that had purple and pink together, and they are so pretty. I think the reason I like blue and purple, is because there are different shades of both, not just one.

@rosekiss I agree. I do like having choices, even if it just a different shade of the same color.

Some people may not think so but purple can go with so many other colors such as blue and pink.

@simone10 It is strange how your taste buds change also, I know I dispise some foods that I used to love and now love some foods I would never eat before.

You can certainly say that again! I used to be into drab, boring colours. But then I changed and brightened up a lot. I love many shades of pink, but the softer ones. White is huge for me, especially tops and dresses :) I also like different shades of blue.

@simone10 That's why I love the colour so much! It seems to work well on all skin tones! I think it really makes my skin 'pop'. I won't be without a bunch of white shirts and T-shirts :)

@Lushlala It really can make skin tones pop. I haven't tanned in a long time so it probably just makes me look washed out.

Although it wasn't my favorite color at the time, I used to wear a lot of white when I was younger. It showed off my tan

Yes, I went from pink to blue to purple to green and so I made up my mind, I like all colors. Not that I can wear all colors, like orange doesn't look good on me, but blue and red and purple do. It's like our children, we love them all, but for their differences.

I saw Anna's comment, yellow is another color I had picked as my favorite as a teen, don't know how I forgot that since I wanted a yellow car.

@Carmelanirel2 I like yellow that is really light, not bright. It brings back memories of my Mom's kitchen that was a bright yellow.

I always find it hard to choose just one favorite color. I usually like a combination of colors and that also changes from time to time :) Right now I'm crazy about pastel colors.

Pastels are very pretty and remind me of Easter. I guess it's because that's what our Easter clothes were when I was growing up.

When I was younger I wore a lot of black because of having blonde hair. Then I met a woman who was even blonder than me and she wore all pastel colors, that is when I started wear pastel colors. Even now I love light blue, pinks and some greens but I do not have many clothes that are black. Strange how you like one color and then you start to like other colors.

@IrisheyesI I also love blue and I have come to like purples also. Orange is not for me and green depending on the depth of the color. Being aware of different colors rather than a taste in color changing I would think is about the same thing.

@Marcyaz I agree. I never thought my favorite color would change as I thought I would love red forever. I do still love red and blue but prefer purple now.

I don't think that it so much my taste in color changing as I grow older. I just am more aware now of different colors for different things. Like you, I love purple flowers. I also like orange flowers. However, orange & purple are two colors that I detest for almost everything else....I do remember as a child my mother insisting that blue and green clashed and should never be teamed up. From way back then until now, blue and green has remained my favorite coolr combination.

I still like red and blue and do have clothing in these colors but I also have clothes that are purple or have a purple design. Even though I buy clothes in different colors, I always seem to be drawn to purple.

Absolutely! I know that I am not the same person I was 20 or 30 years ago. What I like and don't like have change significantly.

I have changed totally regarding color favorites. Now I am happy to have any color in my life at all. The one thing that bothers me about it is, I rent and cannot paint my walls.

I can understand why that would bother you. My brother loves to have an accent wall in a room and we can't do it either because we rent.

I love blue, powder blue to be specific and a few other shades of blue, I love pink a very soft shade of pink.. these colors have been my favorites all my life.. however, now i have found a new love, a very soft shade of purple. I guess my color bandwidth is quiet restricted. I do wear other colors for a change.

When I was younger, my favorite color was pink, because I was always taught that as a little girl, little girls had to love pink. As a small rebel then, though, I quickly decided to change my favorite color to blue. Blue was way better, anyway. Then, when I got to high school, I reflected back on what my real favorite color is, and I've decided that it is definitely purple. Purple has now been my favorite color for at least six years, and I have no plans on changing that any time soon. It's just such a pretty color!

I know a lot of people who like black. I do have some clothes that are black and I like it because it is very slimming.
