Does size matter?

Have you seen this question being advertised on here? Well, I have, so I've been pondering this question. When it comes to size, does it matter to you...how much land you have? For me, it most certainly does. Although I was born and raised in a city, I've been living in a rural area for almost 20 years. After all this time, I've gotten quite used to it! I absolutely love it! It's too late for me now. Size will always matter to me...when it comes to how much land there is! lol What about you? Does property size matter to you?

I've lived in this area since I was 2 - the average property here for average folks isn't "that" big. But in my my adult life, I lived in apartments - first Hubby and I started off with a dinky one bedroom. So we made it a point to keep moving up - we moved to a 2 bedroom, then a 3 bedroom place. Now we have a house with yard which is much more than what we had at the apartments, but still it's not "big". We still intend on getting a bigger place "someday" - but until then, this is the biggest we've ever had thus far!

That's great that you've been able to keep moving up. If this keeps up, you'll have no problem getting that bigger place one day!

@sacmom I just have to wonder how much space you actually have! Can we build a Round Table there?

It does matter, living in a crowded city it matters a lot. I just moved to the outskirts so we can have more space.. I also wanted a little garden ..but I have to make do with a small pergola and terrace garden.

It's nice to have a little room between you and the neighbors. But it's not always possible when you live in a crowded area like a city. We have a little room here, but I wouldn't mind a bit more.

Yeah, it is harder to find it in a city, though it can be done...at a price! lol

Size certainly matters! I'd take a King Size Twix over those lame regular Twix any day. ;) Oh wait, what we were talking about here? Property size does matter to some extent. I grew up with a yard that was several acres big in a small town, so it was really nice. Now, we have about 1.5 acres under the house and a pasture across the street for horses (though it's got cows in it now lol). I could never live in the city. I lived in a really small city for a while in college, and I just don't like it. I like having wide open spaces, fresh air, and lots of places to just get out and explore and play.

Hahaha! What do you thing we're talkin' about? lol I like wide open spaces as well. And I love fresh air, the problem is, it's lacking here.

I would like to have more land. The neighbors are not very close to our home, but if there were even more land between our houses, I would like more.

@sacmom I know that more land means more work, but it's so good not to be close to other people.

@sacmom , it is great. I used to live in Wisconsin where if I wanted to, I could shake my neighbors' hand out the window. Alabama at least I have my own space.

We too shifted from a city to a rural setting where we bought land enough to have a sizeable garden and a pretty house. Thankfully we did not go for acres and acres as getting work done is a pain here these days.

This will prove that size does not matter... a family with only 4,000 sq. ft. home lot was able to plant so many vegetables on their backyard and they profit from it... they also have poultry on their backyard.

Yes,I always wanted to have a big place where neighbors don't have any access to my private life.

The more land the better. I love gardening and hiking and badminton (If you ever played this with my children, you know why we need space, those birdies can really fly at times. ) and just being outside without worrying about traffic or people who may have not nice intentions. Yes, I am weary of people, I hate crowds, so going to the main campus in the city is a struggle for me, but my stubbornness to get my degree is stronger and I only have one more semester to go anyways.

Having neighbors right next to you can get rather annoying at times.

Definitely, these days the smaller the better. Our lawn takes only a few minutes to mow. Our gardens are almost manageable.

I am used to not having much land so it doesn't really bother me. Having said that, if I had my choice, I would love to live out in the country with a lot of land.

Yes, size certainly does matter! You've got to have enough for yourself as well as anyone important to you, as far as I can see. If you don't have enough for everyone, somebody is going to be left unsatisfied and you will not feel fulfilled. I live on a large corner lot. We have tp be able to get away from each other once in a while or things come to a head... like what happened last night. The words spoken in anger and then despair are hard to take back because your heart can only take so much before it doesn't feel worth it to try anymore.

The lot size was one of the considerations in buying this house. There was another place I liked really well, but I literally was looking out both sides at the neighbors. I have four city lots here.

It matters some. I want to have a nice sized yard, but I don't need too much. I've got a good sized yard right now. I could go a bit smaller if I had to.

Yes, because when a land area is big you can have a house with a nice lawn . But as to other aspect , it doesn't matter .
