Colors in my dream

I have read somewhere that dreams are not supposed to have any color. But for the past month or so, I have been having this dream consistently, where I am walking by a never ending river with colored rocks and hills on the other bank. And I remember the colors vividly. Also, I have never seen such a place or any where similar to it either, so I don't think I am imagining the entire thing. Is such a thing normal or am I going crazy? And I don't really believe in dreams having any meaning, but well, if any of you believe otherwise, what would you say the meaning to this dream is?

Is that true? I remember having a very vivid dream when I was a kid, and it was extremely colorful. That's probably what makes it stand out so much in my mind... I was near a waterfall and peaceful pool being serenaded by three large multicolored cats. I'm pretty sure that colors are present in the majority of the dreams I have these days. It's kind of new to me... for years I either didn't dream or didn't remember them upon awakening, but intense dreams are a side effect of a medication I'm on now. A few nights ago I had a dream that involved a large car dealership that was painted a bright red color. It was subsequently annihilated by Megatron (from the Transformers series). This was the same dream that also featured a levitating interdimensional train that contained a compartment that, when opened, delivered large pieces of gourmet chocolate from another world. I ain't gonna pretend I understand 'em...

Any dream with Megatron is an OK dream by me. Though, I have to wonder what that car dealership was. Was it a base for the Decpticons?! *gasp* I also really like your train, and if you ever figure out a way to make one, I would probably just live on it. ;)

@phyrre You know, I don't think the dealership served any purpose other than being an outlet for Megatron's wrath. But it was big... like, bigger than the University of Phoenix stadium big... and even though I had the impression that it was located on the west side of the Phoenix metro area, the guy with the microphone was making a big deal about it being located in the east on a flat plain so everybody could look upon the glory of this fantabulous dealership as the sun rose. And then Megatron just wiped it out. I think it was one of those "Puny fleshbags!" moments. It descended into the Decepticons trying to take over the backyards of Glendale (and all the pool toys) from there. Yeah, I don't even know.

@yukimori That actually sounds hilarious! "Look at this magnificent thing I've built!" *Megatron smash* "You were saying?" Man, I'm in love with your dreams! They sound like a ton of fun and interesting. Can I, like, come visit your dreams from time to time? xD

They've actually done studies about dreams and colors. The majority of people do actually dream in color, but there's a really interesting thing that happens. Older people (like 55 and up) who watched a lot of black and white TV tend to be more prone to dreaming in black and white versus younger people who never had that experience. Or so the study says, which I find interesting. I've never had any black and white dreams and never thought of it until someone mentioned it before. :)

@yukimori Oh wow, that's awesome! That must've been one pretty surreal dream. It looks really pretty.

Infrared photograph of my hand holding an oak branch.
Now that's incredibly interesting! I've dreamed in black and white before... and infrared black and white. THAT was an interesting one. I know I've shared at least one of my photos showing the effect that infrared light creates in them, but I'll post another here for reference. Basically, it goes through deciduous foliage and reflects off the interior structures, so it gives plants this crazy surreal appearance. Clouds are kind of luminescent, and the sky turns black because infrared light doesn't reflect off it. I love it.
