When we get out of our house, our hands come in contact with zillions of germs.
Just to mention a few sources, money, store counters, door handles, public places, buses. Zillions of germs contaminate our hands and from there, they land on our cellphones.
Cleaning the phones using wet wipes, can damage the most sensitive components.
Now there is a new product called PhoneSoap.
This is a device that cleans and sanitizes the cellphones, while it charges them.
If you are scared by germs, make a search, this gadget looks interesting.
How do you clean your cellphone?

Until I got myself an Android set, I was using the normal handset. I kept opening it up and clearing off the dust etc from the set. The set is about 8 years old and still quite in a good condition.
For the new one, I am quite scared as there is virtually no keypad no slider. It is just a screen about 5 inches tall. I keep it enclosed in a cloth cover that was hand made specially for this set. I clean the cover once a month with normal detergent.

@thesids Which model Android did you purchase? A lot of the now come with one of the versions of Gorilla Glass instead of plain glass or plastic that shatters easily.

@DaddyEvil Oh no no. I cannot afford that luxury. It is an ordinary Android from an Indian company - Intex. and does not cost even 100 USD. I am unsure what kind of glass it has. In fact I never knew about this aspect until now.

@thesids I know things like that because selling cell phones and contracts is how I make my living.
Several of the cheaper Intex phones have Gorilla Glass installed in them. (Intex Aqua, Redmi Note, Intex 3G Pro and the Intex Cloud all have Gorilla Glass.)

Since I have an Otter Box case on mine, the only thing that smears or gets dirty is the screen, and I have a protector on it, so it doesn't get scratched. I do wipe the protector though with a micro cloth, as it does a good job of getting rid of the smears and fingerprints.

@LadyDuck The newer cell phone technology is becoming much more tolerant of mishaps caused by carelessness. Less damage unless deliberately mistreated than previous models.

Uhm, I dunno. I seldom clean it. I have a gadget cleaner/sanitizer but I don't use it regularly. Maybe I should now that you mention it.

You're so careful and clean, Ana. Thank you for remind me about it. I'm not that clean honestly. I seldom clean my phone. Perhaps I will clean it only when I see some dirt on it. I use wipe to clean it

How do I clean it? I just rub it on the clothes. And I think that it is generally acceptably clean.

I carry a small container of Germ-X in my pocket. I spritz my hands several times during the day, at home or when I am out. (I rub my phone sometimes after spritzing my hands, then wipe it with a microfiber cloth to remove residue.) (You do realize that our homes are just as germ filled as the outside world, right?)
I am not a germophobe, but I do sell cell phones to customers all day long, so come into contact with who-knows-what. That's why I carry the spritzer.
That sounds like an interesting device @LadyDuck . I am going to check it out...

I also use wipes to clean it down. I refuse to touch someones phone, if they want me to see something on it I let them hold it up and I just look, too many people take their phones into the bathroom with them and I am not handling someone filthy bacteria infected phone.
