Do you keep in touch with your former inlaws?

I have always been friendly with my former husband's family. We stay in touch on Facebook and there have been phone calls over the many years since our marriage ended. I liked some of his relatives better than I liked him!
Do you keep in touch or have you burned all your bridges?

I keep in touch with my ex-partner's Mum. That's mainly for the sake of my youngest son though. His dad doesn't really care about him but I take him over to see his Nanny when I can. I get on with her, and always have. She knew what things were like in my relationship with her son. I did wonder whether things would be awkward with her but they aren't.

@AbbyGreenhill Yes, that's true. I don't think I'd have kept in touch otherwise, although I might and I wouldn't deliberately not see her. We live in the same small town so I'd still say hello when I saw her. I'm nice like that :D

That's good for your son to do that. When kids are involved it's a special circumstance.

Since I dont keep in touch with any exs whatsoever, I obviously would not be in touch with any of their families.

I have been married to the same man for 47 years but I do have friends that stayed friendly with the in laws. it a wonderful thing especially if there are children.

@AbbyGreenhill That really does help, the friendly divorce. If things get ugly usually the families have to take sides and we all know where that will lead.

@BelleStarr I think some of his relatives didn't like him too much to begin with and that helped!

I had a lousy husband and his mother was the cheapest person I ever met in my life. She was a spiteful old lady.
