The trend to take selfies is very popular, but it's better to play safe, your next selfie could also be your last.
In Russia, the Interior Ministry has launched a safety campaign seen the increased number of fatal accidents among people who take selfies.
Just to mention a few, a 17 year old Russian girl fell from a bridge 28 feet from the ground while she was taking a selfie, just to impress her friends.
Two young women were killed in a crash, because they were taking a selfie while they were singing and driving the car.
Yesterday, a man was killed by lightning while he was using a selfie stick during a storm.
Are you a selfie addict?
Remember that safety comes first.

I really don't get it, a lot of people seem addicted to them though.

I am def not a addict for pics of myself.
I am so sick of the word I will not use it.
It is ridiculous the things that people do for this.
I am sorry to read of the deaths of these poor individuals.

@LadyDuck They forget about the rule of "safety first" I guess.
I feel pity to those who fighting so hard just to get some selfie that they will post on facebook or somewhere else to show off. I know it's a lot of fun to get some 'likes' or 'a comments as appreciation. But it becomes stupidity when you create accident for that silly reason

@redvakaurvaki I can understand that young generations like to have friends and to show them how brave they are, but they should never forget that nothing is more precious than life.

That's awful! I'm not a big fan of selfies but I don't mind if people do that as long as it doesn't jeopardize their and other people's safety.

I don't mind the occasional selfie but people can be really dumb about when they take them

I am not much into selfies. These accidents that you talk of could happen even under different circumstances.

I never take selfies. I prefer taking photos of other things.
I've also heard a lot lately about the danger some people expose themselves to when taking selfies, but photographers have had serious accidents taking other kinds of photos too.

I know this is an old thread, Anna, but I thought I'd throw my own twisted views out there for you to see.
I am guilty of taking the occasional selfie. When I have a severe allergic reaction to something, my face and body can undergo drastic changes, so if I can see at all, I try to take a selfie to show people what the allergic reaction did to me this time. I still have the last one I took. I am going to post it on this thread.
Yeah, @LadyDuck , I look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy!
