The whistling killer

I am sitting here. Alone. Sipping my coffee.
The noisy fan and the dogs breathing are the only sounds.
Suddenly there is a cheerful whistle.
I pause what I'm doing.
Then again comes that cheerful whistle.
Immediately my mind goes into panic mode "OMFG a whistling serial killer is in here!" I grab a number 2 pencil as my weapon. "You won't whistle round here ya killer!", I shout.
The biggest of the two dogs quickly picks her head up, then puts it back down giving me a look. I'm pretty sure she rolled her eyes too. She sighs, a slow whistling noise from her nose.

It was coming from the dogs nose. You know how sometimes when you breathe it makes a whistling noise? I guess because there is a blockage there or something.

@cupkitties oh I get you now! Yep I get that myself sometimes which is due to nasal blockage.

Ha ha ha, you can really get spooked. I have done so as well. I bet your dog thinks you are silly, cause she would protect you. . .yeah, right.

No. She would run and hide with her tail tucked.

It appears that there was total peace and calmness around you
. It was like a pin drop silence and the moment a sound emanated from dogs, it made you think what it could be
. Our mind is such that negative thoughts come first in our mind than positive thoughts, therefore, you thought it could be a 'whistling serial killer', though it was not the case.
. So in future be cautious, when sitting alone in complete silence, you never know what is going to happen next.

glad it was a false alarm even if it seemed spooky and scary at the time. I'd prefer a whistling killer to a silent one as the warning might give me a chance to escape or find a defence

This is nothing compared to when someone INTENTIONALLY wants to scare you.

I've whistled from my nose, lots of times! Have I thought about becoming a serial killer? Not yet!
