In my own personal perspective and experience, I believe that to be loved by someone is much more fruitful and happy than being the person who loved that certain individual. It's some sort of the person being loved had the most wonderful experiences and happy moments to say and share with to his/her friends or family rather than the person that loved an individual and yet i believe that only a selection of points will you be telling your friends/relatives about it.
It's just my personal opinion in this though based on my experience.

Indeed. Love is a two way street but happiness in relationship cannot be obtain unless we truly are loved by our partner.
