What's an elephant doing in my picture?

It's actually dipping its feet inside a kiddie pool.
The kiddie pool's one of the amenities offered in the resort I was staying in Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia. Next to it was a full-sized swimming pool; there were also a spa and a bar/restaurant on the ground.
The resort was a bit hidden in the area's valley. But it's only less than a kilometer from the main road leading to the island's city center. It's probably considered too secluded for those who preferred the hustle and bustle of a city. But it's a peaceful, out of the way place with a beautiful view - perfect place to stay while exploring the area's beaches, temples, and local surroundings.

That's pretty strange but you will find it stranger when I tell you that an elephant came to visit us at our house.

@sishy7 There is a temple close by and these elephants are maintained by the temple. They are taken around ostensibly to give their blessing but in fact they come to collect money

@allknowing Interesting! There's a price for everything, I guess, even for 'blessing'

Is that for real? They allow elephants to just roam around?

Sounds like a really nice getaway. I love resorts in places like that, probably because I live in the city and when I have the chance to be away, I want it to be somewhere really peaceful and serene.

@sishy7 Haha well they'll probably appreciate it more when they get older.

Is that a real elephant? (I see below in the comments that it was a statue). Whether it's real or not, my kids would climbing all over it if we were there - ha ha! I imagine that it is beautiful no matter where you go out there!!

Yeah, the one in my picture would be fun to climb all over... but I don't know about the one in @allknowing 's photo - may not be as harmless
