I have the great opportunity to be a stay at home mother, and I know I'm very lucky. I just have been exploring schooling options (my daughter is 2, well almost, so a couple years yet). Anyways, the schools in my area, South Bend or Elkhart IN, have metal detectors in their schools since there has been shootings! I really don't want my daughter put in danger to get an education. I know of K-12 program online and it is available in my area, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried K-12? I was considering going to college (then I got pregnant with my beautiful daughter) and things didn't work out like that. What I'm getting at is I got mostly good grades in high school (As and maybe some Bs but rarely a C), so I think I could assist her with her school work. Idk... Homeschooling is something I'm seriously considering, I just wanted everyone's opinion on it.

May I know how danger it is when sending your daughter to school?
We are trying homeschooling our children.
It is because we don't that our school program is good and the teachers are well trained.
We use waldorf syllabus.

In my area, the schools have had previous shootings.. A Martin's Grocery store was shot up about a year ago also, and I steer clear of that store now. The guy who shot up the grocery store was someone I went to school with. I just don't feel comfortable sending my daughter to a public school in this area at all! They have metal detectors and cops there during school hours because of how bad of a school system it is. Metal detectors or not I still don't feel comfortable. I want to try homeschooling with this program called K-12 and I've heard good things about it. I'm just worried my daughter isn't going to be sociable enough because there will be no children to interact with. I'm friends with a few people who have children Anna's age and I think that's how I'll nip that problem in the but lol. I'm glad the program you use is good. So how is it homeschooling your children?
