This dog lives down the street from us. See him in the yard and street playing all the time. But I saw abulances and police there yesterday about 4pm. When my husband got home he went over there.. to find out the dog had attacked and killed its 73 year old owner. he wasnt even pit bull or mean dog .. and they are investigating. very sad...

It isn't common for dogs to attack their owners so I have to wonder what the owner did to him, maybe the dog was defending himself. Then again, older dogs adopted from shelters may have personality issues that an adoptee isn't aware of which may have caused the attack.

@kayshope could be the 73 yr old had Alzheimer's and was in the violent stage of the disease and threatening another family member, my friends dad had that disease and beat his wife which he had never done before, he was 76.

He certainly looks a friendly enough dog, though he looks as though he might have some Staffordshire Bull Terrier in him - it's difficult to tell from the photo but he looks quite a lot like my daughter's dog. Staffies have very strong jaws and can do more damage than they mean to, sometimes. The other thing is that nearly any dog (or cat) can behave unpredictably if they have something (like a tumour, for example) affecting the brain. That must be a very sad and disturbing event for your neighbourhood, though.

@kayshope I have been here for ages and I was also at Bubblews (with the same username). I don't know MatesGate. If you had a different account here before, we probably were friends. I think that I remember someone from Englewood but there is also a user called MariaPeralta @mariaperalta from Mexico (who hasn't been here since May 2013). If that's an old account of yours, it's probably best if you send a message to @goaskalice and ask him to delete it.
