River weirs

I am always fascinated by river weirs, with the roar of water attracting my attention during a woodland walk. They often look quite natural, almost like miniature waterfalls but many are man-made, evidence of the water being manipulated, and rerouted for industrial purposes. Some weirs are used as artificial rapids for canoeing clubs too.
