That eternal wait for the first response on a myLot discussion.

I don't know about you guys but for me the time between the posting of a discussion and the first response (if it comes at all) is an infinitely long one. By the time someone posts a comment, I feel like I have grown much more older in those few minutes. There is always a sense of excitement while composing the discussion, always a hope that maybe this will hit the mark. But then soon this optimism wanes out and I am left hoping to just get a couple of responses. The more advanced users may not find this common, but the new users know exactly what I am talking about!

When I first joined the site 8 years ago as a newbie there was not nearly as many mylotters as there was when the site stopped paying a few years back. Many of my earlier posts went without any comments at all. It didn't deter me from posting though. I just came back to the site yesterday and I see that it is much slower. I have received a few comments on my posts but nothing like it used to be. Oh well I am glad to be back and am having fun.

Things have still improved a lot. A huge number of people who had left myLot are now returning back. Within the next month, the site will surely become much more lively. We can only hope for the best.

Hahaha I feel you. But as soon as you get the first comment all is well. Personally I notice more people can interact with discussions if it's not like a blog post.

I am not really preoccupied by this. Sometimes you can receive responses several hours later. I went to bed one night after I responded to 2 or 3 responders to a discussion, and I found 30 more the day after. Some members are also checking the list of discussions in the profile, and are responding to discussions started years ago, so I have always a hope when a discussion does not get any responder.

I guess sometimes some discussions just become instantly popular with the users while others take their own sweet time.

Yeah I too noticed the lack of activity. Maybe the traffic will increase later.

When I first started using myLot, the first couple of articles went without a single response. But then gradually the people started leaving comments on my discussions. Anyway the users on myLot are far more polite and helpful than other social net working sites.
