I go to so many sites on the Internet I have had to cut back my time total for being here so I can have a life!! I spend very little time on facebook--I only post 3 times a week here as a rule and the in-between times I respond to people who read and comment on my posts and then I go read and comment on theirs.
I love Mother Nature, people, the outdoors so the Internet isn't a priority for me.

FB ties you down real bad, GreatMartin! Besides, there is nothing more placid and pleasant than serene outdoors.

I check my facebook on my phone sometimes, but not as often as I like. I'm trying to be on myLot a whole lot more.

Never been a huge fan of Facebook, never really connected with me. MyLot and the like websites have always connected with me. I think a lot of the problem for me and I'm sure many others, is a lot of real life drama can spill over on Facebook. So, being a MyLot buff as opposed to a Facebook freak is not a bad thing, it's a good thing.

Looks like it surely is, Megamatt! That apart, too much slanging-on, and off, seems to become a routine on FB.

@gregario888 I don't miss FB anytime. I used to miss B initially.. But then its time to focus on other sites that pay for your efforts.

@sofssu That surely beats them to it, the paying sites. When logged on to one of them, one doesn't feel he/she is loitering away time, which is feeling you some times get when spending long hours on FB, or even on Twitter.

@gregario888 I don't interact on Facebook, simply pop by to see what the others are up to

@valmnz That's great! In India, FB is used heavily, by one and all, for a sort of, political wrangling. It is nothing short of a pageant.

That's great! Even the family and friends, when you interact with them on FB, is nothing short of a melee at times.

Being in India, I find FB full of too many political posts and comments. It has become somewhat boring, by that.

That is very much the case with me too. Anyway the overdose of hastags, selfies, and "What happens next will blow your mind" posts irritate me a lot. I spend much more time on myLot. Infact now I have more notifications on myLot in a single day, than a whole week in Facebook.

@gregario888 myLot feels more cosy and comfortable than Facebook, even though ironically in myLot we interact with strangers and in Facebook its only our "friends" that we interact with.

That's great Shine! FB has become too crowded. this place, has a welcome placidity about itself. In a contrast.

You are spot on Judy! Indeed, I never felt better on any other social networking site, till now. The placid nature of this place, is its USP.

@RasmaSandra Looks like you are a prolific writer, it is not easy to keep pace with three blogs and two sites, and a host of tasks on the net.

@gregario888 I am so much into my PC that I don't have too much time to spend on any one site but I give as much of myself as I can. I have 3 blogs, two sites I write for and poetry sites. I love to do poetry but I guess not here. I am not sure about what to post so since I just joined yesterday I guess it will take awhile to get used to things here. It is Sunday today so I am taking the time to get familiar with this site.

Facebook for me at least, is just for talking with my friends, I can find then and ask then whatever I need to know faster than other places, I don't do much besides this, Facebook wastes a lot of people's time. Mylot on the other hand, is pure interaction that you may have during the day, I let both open all day, and I do other things while they are open, and when something comes up, I go to the respective site, answer all notifications, and back to what I was doing.

You are spot on, Vegas! FB and Mylot do contrast a lot! The latter is pretty go-easy, while FB, becomes really torrid, if things go out of hand.

@ZHVegas Yes Vegas, it becomes a meaningless conversation, when everyone is hell bent on blowing his/her own trumpet.

@gregario888 That's true. Sometimes in group conversations in facebook with a lot of people, everyone just starts speaking all at the same time and I just can't follow it up anymore, so I just mute or quit the conversation or I'll spend all day there.

These days I only open Facebook when I get notifications on my phone. I think I'm becoming more of a myLot freak too.

I do the same as @/PhredWreck. Keep things up in my browser. I like that Facebook lets you know when you have an answer to messages over there. And I take my breaks there with a game or two.
