I have been thinking about it for a while.....confused, a job you have no interest in but pays excellent and a job which pays average but you are passionate about it.Which to select as one has to consider the needs of himself, his dreams in this costly world!!!???

@mkrnex,it's not easy to choose one of the two.We all need money and the cost of living has been continuously going up and up.Often we have to settle with a job we are not comfortable with, but which yields more. There may as well be a job in which you can't expect a good salary, but you love to do it.I,if I were in your place, would like to opt for the latter, although it would be too tough a choice.

I would pick that job that I am passionate about if it is possible. I would have to look at my financial situation first and if I can pay my rent and my bills with with my salary from the job that am I passionate about I would pick that one. I have been passionate about most of my jobs, and I have never had a high paying job. I have worked in home health care, nursing homes, homes for people with special needs and kindergartens. You don't earn a lot of money in those jobs, but I loved most of my jobs.

do
@missjahn ya ,I have seen some earning a hell of a lot but zero satisfaction, being grumpy. They are frustrated with themselves so obviously their anger directs to other people.I think a work which has long time potential and serves your interests is 100 times better than high paid job but you don't have mind or body willing to do it.

I think that we can only be happy when we have a job that we like.

see that is a hard one, and depends on so many things, how badly you and your family needs the money for one thing. Do you just have no interest or totally hate the job. If I had the financial freedom to not have to make a certain amount, or we could surive on the job I loved, I'd do that. But we don't so I am at the one that makes more right now, that I'm not as happy about.

@mkrnex pretty much, I want to get out of debt, and while i would Love to Love my job, the need to be debt free, have savings, and have a stock of food and such for emergencies saved up is a greater need

@Jessicalynnt pretty much what it happens in India. Here students to learn in good universities put up a lot of debt then go to work in some uninteresting work to fill it up and that cycle pretty much continues non stop!!

It is a tough choice but if you can manage at all with the lesser money, pick the passion job! I did but I was able to do it and have pure joy!

I would honestly choose the job that didn't pay very high that I loved IF it was enough to sustain all my expenses.

it depends on your current situation. If you urgently need to raise money for something then stick with the job that pays you good. Ideally it is always great to have a job you are passionate about even if it pays moderately as long as it can support the lifestyle you want. Or you can try putting a balance on it. Keep that high paying job then if you have extra time, work on something you are passionate with :) I guess I am lucky to have a job that pays good enough and provides me comfortable home and free food and free health insurance and yet have plenty of time to have fun and earn extra online.

I have worked in jobs I hated all my life and then came to Israel and still at the beginning didn't find what I wanted to do. I did find something that I like, but, not enough so I do not make a lot of money doing it, but,I say everything helps. NOw, I found My lot and love it. I may not be rich, but, I really like what I am doing now.

I think picking the right balance is really hard. And you have to work on small things in order to make some decent adjustment. The small adjustment over time can make a lot of changes in lifestyle. I think you should focus on money at first and once the money settles in you can balance it with quality work that brings you happiness.

I consider myself that rare kind of person that would choose what is passionate about even If I don't get anything, not that there's a lot of these things at all... but, I just can't do things If I don't like then... well, I can do, but if it's something as important as a job(That Is something that needs to be done with quality and quick), I won't do that good. I know that I won't do it as good as a person passionate by it that should be there.
