During the weekends I like to experiment new recipes, especially cakes and pies. Yesterday, one of my cousins shared a link on Facebook, challenging me to realize the cakes. The recipe is to make "apple roses", using puff pastry, red apples and apricot jam. It looked so nice that I decided to try. I had all the ingredients in my refrigerator, in less than one hour the small roses were ready to serve. The result is impressing, but the roses are very easy to realize.

When it comes to making cakes, I will leave that to the women. Sampling them afterwards is more my forte.

I have seen some similar confections made with regular pastry dough. I am impressed that you had all those ingredients at the same time. I have had all those ingredients, individually, but probably not all at the very same time.

The roses are made with only 3 ingredients, apples, puff pastry and apricot jam. I always have apples and the apricot jam at home. I had puff pastry leftovers because I had prepared appetizers two days before.

@simone10 No they are easy, you only need a bit of patience when you roll them, to avoid to break the puff pastry, or to move the apple slices.

I confess that it was a shame to "destroy" the roses, but also the taste was very good. I will make more soon, it does not take long.

This is the technique of the kids of my neighbor. They always arrive to get some cookies or muffins from my kitchen. Just mix in with them.
