Plastic surgery overkill

Oh my, I keep on looking at the dreadful examples of plastic surgery overkill in the ads on my site, and I can hardly bear to see them, even though they pop up all the time, and you'd think I'd be used to it by now. Guess I'm gonna keep my homely face, wrinkles and all! I can't imagine the horror of being confronted by that "after" image in the mirror, as you brush your teeth in the morning. I'm so sad for that poor woman.

Plastic surgery terrifies me to be honest. Especially those famous people who keep going underneath the knife constantly. They find flaws within themselves. To me, the real flaws to someone who goes with plastic surgery are internal. Therefore, you aren't going to fix them them with external surgery. I don't know how they can live with themselves. They look ghastly, almost uncanny. Something out of a horror show. I don't know what some of these people do to their faces, but it's not human. I can understand plastic surgery for someone who is disfigured. Not to defeat father time though.

@Susan2015 - oh, I'm agreeing with you. It's one thing to have the surgery for corrective treatment, but this is obviously trying to fill a need for perceived perfection. On the other hand, I have seen people who had obvious things like a very large nose, and had it altered. It did seem to enhance their self esteem.

You are so right those people have problems but not on the outside of their bodies.

Some of them can be quite scary, especially if you aren't expecting it. I may not be completely satisfied with the way I look but I wouldn't go to the extremes a lot of people do.

@Inlemay I think we all see things about ourselves we sort of wish were different. But I'm content enough. I've never thought about plastic surgery, and unless my face completely caves in, I doubt that up I will. Even then, it seems from this that your face could actually cave in from the surgery, so I'm even less inclined with the idea.

@simone10 - I think most of us feel that way. Just shows, you can have all the money in the world, and still mess things up!

Just this morning in Church the message was to BE CONTENT with who we are and what we have. I have no idea why people dont like the way they are.

Quite very recently I read the new that a budding actress succumbed to cardiac arrest after some lipoplasty / lipsuction that was done on her. I know many want to look beautiful but in my opinion, it is not worth dying. I would never undergo a cosmetic surgery unless I looked that scary and could not recognize the man in the mirror.

@sprinklesare4winners Exactly my views. I have no right to leave everything and start a journey never to return when I have a family - be it parents or even wife or even children.

oh yes. with any surgery there's always risks, another reason i dont understand why you would put yourself/your family through that.

@thebusysids yes, that would do it for me too! Unbelievable after effects of the surgery. I'm aging having to live with that?

i dont really support plastic surgery unless its for medical purposes or if the person was disfigured in some way and is having the surgery to restore something. i dont understand why someone would undergo surgery willingly when they dont need it medically.

@sprinklesare4winners - I don't really understand it either, but there's probably a big psychological component to it.

I also agree to most comments. Like its acceptable for medical reasons, but never for looks alone.

That makes two of us, I am gonna do what I can naturally, but nope knives for me. I do not like Docs anyway, so forget going to them so I can look better, it is not a necessity.

@mom210 These plastic surgeons may be good, but it's interesting - you can almost always see something is unnatural about thee results.

@VickiJW the kids and I were at the store looking at all those mags while in line. On one was an article about Hollywood Celeb's noses falling off their faces because of all the surgeries. My 9 y/o daughter asked why a nose would fall off anybody's face, when I explained about surgery she was horrified anybody would CHOOSE to do such a thing. It was just so funny to see her reaction to the whole thing.

@mom210 It may seem funny, but actually it's very sad.Maybe a good lesson though that she will remember when she doesn't feel satisfied with her own "perfection."

If it is plastic surgery for a medical reason, for instance someone loses a great deal of weight and has the loose skin that causes problems, then I think it is a good idea. To simply go through surgery to get rid of some wrinkles and the cost involved is ridiculous in my opinion.
