How will you spend your day will it be with your grandparents, talking on the phone, visiting, texting them.
Do you ever tell them how greatfull you are to them for their love and support or do you send them flowers?
Perhaps if they are in a nursing home or retirement village you could go and visit or take them on an outing maybe to a restaurant.
Did you know that forget-me-not flowers symbolize National Grandparents Day
How will you spend this day?
.My grandparents have been deceased for a long time now but I do think of them often, my maternal grandparents I was very close to as a child, my paternal grandmother I never knew and the grandfather passed away when I was around 7 years old.

My grandparents have been gone a while too. I lost my paternal grandma in 2005 and six months later in 2006 lost my maternal grandma. Lost my grandpa many years before in 1999. I miss them very much. I have one grandson and he is off with his parents today...

We do not celebrate this day at all in JA. I only ever knew my GM on my mother's side and she was really so very lovely. A shelter in the storm that was my childhood. Happy M's day Kathleen!.

I didn't know there was even such a thing as grandparent's day. I guess I should give my grandmother a call tonight.

My grandparents have been deceased too, since I was in high school. Before that, they lived far away from our home and I could only visit them with my parents during the summer. I had a great time every time I was with them. Now I like to think that they are our guarding angels for me and my brother.
I didn't know about the forget-me-not flowers, now I will remember them on this day.

We truly learn something new every day. I never knew! These days we have a day for so many different things, some of which are just ridiculous, but I like this! Grandparents don't always get the credit and honour they deserve. Sadly, both my paternal and maternal grandparents are late :( I hope that everyone who still has them appreciates them :)

I only got two grandmothers left.. Both of my grandpaps are deceased. I miss them everyday. One I never actually met, but the other was one of my favourite people.
Happy grandparents day.. Hope you all got the chance to spend quality time with your lovely grandparents.
