My Photos are my Treasures

Responding to some writings I have done in the past regarding all my old photos of news-paper articles of my family, I do believe that our photos are our treasures and have the ability to take us back in time with every opening of the Photograph tin lid; or the Facebook; or the Albums that are stacked high in the back of the cupboard. I have taken to scanning all my photos that I possibly can find of my past onto the computer and burning them to DISC. This way I can preserve them if they get destroyed or fade with time. I even have them stored on my Apple ICloud for in case. What precautions have you taken to make sure that your treasures are not lost?

I'm the other way round, I'm starting to make hard copies of some of my digital photos

My walls are full of memories, but then I only have a small home to have hard copies all over the place.

I have some photos on my Dropbox, and some are still in hard copy. I hope not to lose them, but I doubt I will ever get them so organized as you have.

I am only better organised because I have them in labeled tins as well. We have days that we sit with the REAL photos and have a laugh a minute at the strange things we take photos of . . . and the hairstyles

I agree that photos are treasures. They are also memories. But I haven't gone so far as to scan older photos and put them in the computer. That would take a heck of a lot of time and I really have better things to do.

So far I haven't taken any. That's something I really need to work on.

I am also in the processing of scanning all the old photos and even the slides that my husband loved to take during all those years of marriage. It's a long process.

The longer we wait the longer the process - good luck and how is the painting going?

@Inlemay The painting is drying, my back is hurting, but I am happy when I look at the result.
