It's definitely quality over quantity over here. You could have 1-2 people respond, but if you are able to continue to discuss, then you win anyway. Now of course the more people that responds, the more chances you have of having more discussions. But some responses aren't up to par to even have a good long discussion. I hope I made sense.... Anyways, there are people that have been here a long time and have made names for themselves of course, so they have many friends they talk to and have discussions with. That doesn't mean they are trying to leave anyone out or that they are "better" than anyone else.

I agree! I find it hard to participate in certain discussions, and in some I just feel like pouring my heart out, haha. I guess it's up to us to come up with topics that would attract a lot of responses.

Hey don't feel so bad... as long as you have a nice discussion going on even with a few members that's fine. As long as you're having fun too. I don't think it's unfair to anyone at all. This is just how it is. See I saw your post and commented. It's always better to interact rather than just talk about how your day went in a one sided manner. You'd definitely get less interaction if you post like that.

A lot could depend on chance. Since many members have a large number of people that they follow, you can submit a post and it can easily be missed if that person is not on Mylot at the time, or sometimes even if they are here but responding to other posts. So far today I have posted 2 articles, which have resulted in 3 responses and 1 response respectively. This is a simple fact of life and not something that I am particularly concerned over.

@amnabas Interacting will definitely show dividends because the more that we interact and the more likely people are to notice us.

I think that some of it is due to the person, some of it is due to the subject material and some of it is due to the timing, so there is no one factor that dictates how many or how fast the responses are that you might get. I have been on when it is really slow (there don't seem to be many other people on), so the responses are few and far between. Other times, when there are a lot of people on and active, it is very difficult to keep up. I also think that people who interact more with others tend to get more responses (and they do seem to get them quicker) than people that do not respond back, so I suspect that activity does play a rather large part in the matter.

It can be because they've been here longer than we have and have known each other since way before. Plus some people are just better at coming up with interesting discussions and have a natural writing talent, that's normal. Don't worry too much, just enjoy posting discussions and interacting with people.
