The other day I mentioned my $20 clothing voucher that I chose not to use, because of the strings attached. But I did have a more positive buying experience. We needed a new vacuum cleaner, desperately, and had been waiting for a local retail store to have one of its regular sales. We managed to get a well known brand, tried and tested, Electrolux, for a 60% reduction. That's right, we got it for $150 instead of $450. We'd already checked out prices in other shops, so knew that was correct. I remember my mother using an Electrolux, which she originally bought in the 1940s. And I too had this brand when we were first married. So I know they can be trusted. I've just never been able to afford another one since then and have gone with cheaper brands. So, in all my excitement at my new machine I've vacuumed the entire house twice since then. Those that know me I guess just won't believe that! So, it just foes to show, you can get quality goods at sale price.

Wow that was a great buy Val. Glad you got to use that voucher. I got a new vacumn around 4 months ago. It was a top of the line Bissel, but I got to use some vouchers too. Under $100 is good for me.

That is a good bargain. My vacuum cleaners pipes were all worn out and it seemed that though the machine was working well I needed to throw it out. Lucky I cam across the pipes on something like ebay here locally and got vacuum cleaner working perfectly. I paid next to nothing for it last week.. I am so thrilled.

Lucky you our house is so very small, it really takes us no time at all.

Electrolux is a brand that I like, I also have an Electrolux vacuum. It is possible that it is much more expensive in your country because they are imported from Sweden. The most expensive sold here in Switzerland is under 300$.

There's rhenexchange rate to consider too Anna. My price was NZ dollars. The cheapest ones here are Asian brands, some of them very good. And of course, that makes sense because they are closer.

@valmnz Here in Europe Hoover vacuum cleaners are more expensive, I believe just because they are imported from the United States.
