Embarrassing Wedding Photos Abuse Sites

I keep seeing ads for sites sharing really embarrassing wedding and prom party photos. The images usually involve girls, especially brides and bridesmaids, having a costume malfunction, as in revealing too much underwear or their breasts slipping out. Photographers might be personally amused at capturing such moments but the images should not be mass circulated unless the people in them agree to it. Photographers can legally use any image they take but it is a breach of trust to use images not showing wedding guests in a flattering light. Such photographers should not be hired or trusted.

In our country photographers CANNOT use the photos of people they take without a written disclosure. This is very serious, they risk a severe fine and even prison.

that is a good law but it could be very restrictive with genera row scene images of people just in the background

@arthurchappell In Italy this is becoming a major problem. You cannot share images on the Internet if you do not mask the faces even of people in the background.

I find all of the websites dedicated to embarrassing people to be in poor taste and I wish that the majority of people were principled enough to avoid being lured into those sites.

True. It's all about getting publicity. I just feel like it's totally against photography ethics to do so. I'd never hire a photographer I don't trust, because these things can happen when you least expect them.

seems to be the sad norm these days - folks benefittin' from the mishaps 'f others. i agree, those folks ought not be used, but there should also be a way to prosecute folks 'f that nature. i get spittin' mad 't some'f the photos folks post to the web 'n videos 's well displayin' private moments, tragedies 'n the like. i know full well that many were taken without the parties involved knowledge nor permission. some folks jest aint got no scruples

Oh yes, I agree with you. Those kind of pictures should not be shown on public. Photographers are hired to capture precious moments and I do not think having malfunction dresses are part or precious moments.
