So the US Open tennis final is about to get under way, slightly over 3 hours late. That may be frustrating for American tennis fans, but for people in my time zone, it's really bad. I had been hoping for an exciting match, but now I hope it will be a quick one as even night owls need some sleep.
Come on Federer. Time to add another Grand Slam title to his impressive collection.

@jaboUK Despite a tiring day on Sunday I was determined to see it all, and I did. I wish you'd been right about Federer, but it wasn't his day.

@LadyDuck I'm unhappy about Federer too. He may be Swiss, but his mother grew up in South Africa and he still comes here to do charitable work, so it's almost like he's an honorary South African. The ladies' result was amazing.

I think he lost Janet. Swiss are surely unhappy today, while we Italians are happy for the ladies.

I used to stay up late or wake up in the middle of the night to watch football matches, but not now anymore with two young children.

Hope the team you support has won the match!

@kaka135 He's been one of the best players for many years and he's won a lot of titles so it's not so bad. Other people have to get their chances too.

@kaka135 It wasn't teams in action, just two players and I was supporting Roger Federer. Sadly he lost.

GO ROGER! If he wins it's worth the sleepless night.

@Beatburn I enjoyed the sleepless night anyway, but I wish he'd won. But he's had an amazing career, so it wasn't that bad.

@Gina145 Yeah. He never lost a set prior to that match with Novak. I'm glad he reached that far. One of the oldest to reach the US Open.
