Once upon a time I chanced upon a dime When I checked in the myLot premises around 9 years ago, I was just trying to make a few cents in my spare time. Going was tough, I had somehow bungled one year of my life and needed something to look up for. Earning cents was one option. (Now now, don't laugh!) So from somewhere I came to know about this site and joined, along with my sister. We had a nice arrangement where I opted to 'check it out' first and she would be my referral. The idea clicked and we both were happy. For sometime... Then, she was angry. If you know how referral system worked earlier, you would understand. Anyway, it was a small problem and we got over it. But we couldn't get over the addiction myLot caused! Long forgotten was the money dream and we were just involved for the sheer fun of exchange. And, mercifully, I got busy with my studies and other things and didn't get time for this obsession. For couple of years. Then everything got stable and I returned. And thus started the second bout of addiction. This time I was little balanced though. Made some great friends like mysD, ever-changing Lamb and many more. With the mentioned two... even had the fight on seniority. Lost with one won over other. And life kept moving. I had an issue regarding payments. While I spent good length of time here, most of it went in reading and just reading. Seldom did I reply and own posts were close to nil. And that meant no money generation. Who cared though... So, one fine day I was back to the site. For the record, I am very irregular person and didn't log in for weeks those days. Hmm... so I came back and found someone from admin had insulted all the members and everyone was quitting in protest. Well, some were quitting for other reason too - no more payments. I didn't care for payments much, but all my dear friends were gone. So I dived away too. Lonely in this world. Tried to get hold of others on other sites... but the feeling was never the same. Then went to the unforgiving world of Tweeter (which I didn't like initially, had a dormant account) which myLot was copying in looks (again, my main grouse about new site). I blended in too. Net effect was, I have become more rough then before and my old friends here may get shocked by that. Sorry in advance for all that. If ever you feel offended, please come and read this post again! And then apocalypse started again. Good people from my contacts there started drifting away from me. And I don't follow bad people. So life was lonely. And myLot friends too weren't showing on other sites. Such a despair. Today, by chance, I found a post by @vandana7 somewhere mentioning she made cameo on here. And I was intrigued as to what she could be doing on the disgraced site. So I came, I saw and I found out.... A party is already going on! I won't pretend. I am hurt. None of the good friends I have ever invited me, ever broke the news to me. Even myLot didn't send a mail... but that I don't expect. I will not whine for this betrayal of trust in front of anyone... except for one person. You know who. Back to the caption... I kept my feelings aside and started browsing through. And what I feel is that old days are back. That I will - keep reading more and writing less - again enjoy being here, with all the old emotions - not be paid much - get addicted, sooner or later (the gaga things they have done might help here, as pages don't load easily anymore) That everything will be Just Like Before.
