Do you ever visit the 'new user' category in the explore section?
I think it's good to visit every once in a while. New members are slowly coming here to myLot and I think we should be welcoming them and interacting with them as much as possible.
Not only are they going to have a lot of questions about myLot, they are going to want to make some friends. Those who have been here for years and really know how the site works should share what they know with the new users.
By us interacting with new users and making them feel welcome in the myLot community, hopefully it will make them want to stay and interact with us too!

@valmnz ... new you have to make an extra effort to get out there and be seen.
Post healthy, stay healthy and polite on discussions and responses and have patience. These are the only things that worked for me when I was new. And I did not had to make anything "extra effort" from my side. I continues and strangers kept becoming friends and friends became family

@gregario888 Yes, I prefer to keep things Very Very simple as the complexities exist in the real world

I try all the various categories, depending on what mood I'm in.

@AbbyGreenhill Do you think interacting and welcoming the new users here on myLot would help them stick around?

@gudheart I'm afraid if the new users don't get many interactions on their posts they will give up and leave. We don't want that at all! We want myLot to grow and have many valuable members from all over the world.

@Angelee_27 Good point. I think it will help. It is boring if no one interacts with each others posts.

I usually visit the "no response" page. I like to help other people! It is sad when you have 0 comments on your discussion.

@gudheart Aw, what a bummer you won't be on here. Maybe when you come back from work, there will be more activity too for you to interact with. I will probably be here!

In the old days, I used to go to the new and no response sections. There was some incentive for me there, which I can't remember at all now! Mostly that was fun too, like the other sections.
Even though I know this site pretty well I get cold feet when confronted with questions. Because I don't want to give wrong info. If you want to know how to destroy your PC, you're welcome to ask (I give free advice, psssst) but please don't ask me if like button is going to pay you!

I too sometimes do not comment on a question because I don't want to tell someone wrong. I only answer if I know for certain that my answer is correct.

I usually visit the new discussions while exploring myLot and there are posts from new users as well. I respond to everything that sounds interesting without categorizing the posts. I have visited the new users discussions a few times and I also think that we should help them and make them feel welcome in the site.

It is so important for a newbie like me, to see so many members responding. It is encouraging to go on and stick with the site.
