Preservatives

Looking back at my childhood what we ate then never had any preservatives. Food was freshly cooked though simple.
Today the circumstances are such that cooking every day is not something that one can do resulting in getting ready made mixes from markets most of which have preservatives.
Preservatives are injurious to health.
What is your view on this?

I am trying to cook a few times every week and take my own food to work. Preservatives and processed food are not good for health but sometimes it is hard to seperate good and bad ingredients. I think that companies are trying to hide the harmful inredients by mentioning them with their full names so only a few people may know what they are about.

Some time needs to be kept for cooking at home. If there is a will there is a way

@besweet We do the same. We have learnt it from Preiti our pet. If she can eat the same kind of food every single day we could do that atleast two days in a row Home cooked food is a luxury these days.

@allknowing Yes, we don't have to cook every day if there is limited time. I cook larger qualtities and eat for two days most of the times. Or I make sandwitches and salads that don't need cooking.

I also feel like, they are bad. Even if they say its OK, in the long run it can be hazardous. We go for freshly cooked most of the time. Sometimes we buy ready mixes, only when its absolutely necessary

We do not get to see the harm these mixes do immediately but in the long run they do.
