Heavy or Light ?

I am talking about breakfast , guys .
Here in the Philippines , a heavy breakfast consists of rice , viand and a favorite morning beverage , be it coffee , tea , milk or a juice .
I used to be a light breakfast eater. But for the past weeks , I have been eating a heavy breakfast , before going to work .
And my husband does too , as he said he is so tired of eating bread and sandwich fillings for breakfast .
Every morning on weekdays only , I would cook rice through the rice cooker which I always do , so I can bring some for my lunch , so there’s always a newly cooked rice in the morning .
Thus , frying something for viand like tocino , dried fish , egg amongst other food stuff paired with rice and coffee would make a heavy breakfast for me . I sometimes would eat as a finale a small sandwich .
No more snacks at 10:00 a.m. for me at the office since that .
I have noticed a great improvement in me since I have been having a heavy breakfast before I go to work .
I noticed I am more lively , energetic , with a happy disposition and a sharp mind . I also noticed my irritability is gone . Instead , I am now more patient .
Are you a light or heavy breakfast eater ?

@SIMPLYD Generally at 7 am : I was probably having it when you posted your comment. During several years I was taking only a coffee at breakfast, and I was eating a croissant or a pastry with another coffee during a 15 mn break at 10:30 am. The main meals are lunch and dinner here.

@topffer Us at the office , 15 break is at 10:00 . In my perception , you and your countrymen are not much into eating . We, Filipinos have breakfast , am snack , lunch , pm snack and dinner and to some midnight snack. 3 main meals for almost all Filipinos .

If anything, I like to have protein in my breakfast - but just enough, not enough to consider it a heavy breakfast though. It takes more time to digest - and that means the tummy is fuller longer and there's less of need to snack. During the week, we are always rushing in the mornings to get out of the house, so there's no time to prepare such heavy meals anyway. But I'm a rice eater too and I could eat rice any time of the day!!!

I also eat heavy breakfast. I actually eat a lot during the day. But in the evening, I don't eat rice anymore. Eating rice at dinnertime gives me stomach discomfort the following day.

A light breakfast on a hectic workday, is sure to leave you with an empty tummy, when you are busy! While a heavier one is sure to slow you down, when you need to be active on the job.

On working days, it is not possible to go for heavy breakfast due to lack of time. However, on weekends, we could afford to enjoy heavy breakfast. When I take light breakfast, I feel more energetic but on the other hand, I also start feeling hungry after few hours.

@SIMPLYD - May be you are right.
However, on working days if I am immersed in work, I do not need to eat snacks in between. I eat home cooked lunch in lunch break and that is suffice.

@dpk262006 That's good , because at least you won't be spending for snacks . Me, i have to snack in the afternoon . I guess, my tummy is conditioned to eat snack at that time since there are a lot of snack items for sell at that time .

Uh well I usually don't eat breakfast sometimes I will eat a bowl of cereal. Then sometimes I feel like a huge big breakfast with scrambled eggs and tortillas and chips and some bacon sometimes but not very often on the bacon.

I suppose it depends on whether you will be going out to work or just simply be at home . I eat light on weekends when i am just at home .

I think it's up to you to determine it as heavy or light . Light to me is when it's just simply bread and a beverage .

I have always to keep myself in perfect Zero Figure.
Always light for me. Morning breakfast - Banana and some Flattened rice with some Complan (a health drink, powdered) added to the flattened rice. Some other days, it is my favorite choco Kellogs in warm water. and of course, a mug of coffee - black during winter and iced during summers

@hereandthere Difficult to explain so I have a couple of links -
For Flattened Rice -
For complan - it is a health drink that comes as a powder and you can have it with milk or even water or even consume raw. Here is the link to their website - http://www.complan.com/
Winter is cold in the north - at high during Dec-Jan (unless there is some Cold Wave).
I am at the middle - right - very very close to Bay of Bengal. AS such, we should not normally have chilly winters. But still at times it worse towards the last week of the year and the first week of the next year.

I usually eat a light breakfast unless i am with family and we all get together than the breakfast is heavy..
Light breakfast here is maybe toast/croissant/roll/bagel and choice of drink..water/coffee/juice/milk
heavy is...Toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, fruit and biscuits and gravy...some have it all and some will do a combination of some of it..

I mostly just have a cup of coffee for breakfast. Sometimes I might eat a bowl of cereal or a bagel with cream cheese but that is not very often. My husband on the other hand wants a full breakfast if he is at home.

Using the old definition, I don't break my fast until I'm hungry, usually if I'm only on the PC after my initial cup of joe I won't be hungry for hours but if I go out with Ally and play then do some yard work I get really hungry and will make myself an egg soup.

@rebelann Precisely . That's why i want a heavy breakfast before going to work because a light one would make me buy for snacks . Howeever , sometimes if i feel hungry at snack time in the morning , i would just buy a viand and eat it with my packed rice and have brunch . By lunch time , i am free and can do Mylot.
