Part #4 On Productive Praying - The Lords Prayer “Give us day by day our daily bread” Bless me O Lord. Give me what I need for today. Can you pray these words? Many people find it difficult to pray for themselves. But God wants us to depend on Him for the things we are in need of. Not for riches or wealth for these things the world seeks after. He is our heavenly Daddy, He desires to provide for His children, and loves to hear us ask Him for our needs. Did you notice it said Give Us? We need to remember that we are a family and are to include others, and their needs into our prays also. Pray for the necessities that are needed to sustain our physical being as well as material things. Pray not only for the physical and material things needed, but also for the spiritual needs. Pray for wisdom, grace, discernment, direction, reassurance, protection and opportunities for ourselves as well as others. For Jesus said in {Luke 4:4} “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” God is concerned with every aspect of our lives. Body - Soul - Spirit. He may not give us everything we want. But He shall supply all our needs if we would only ask. {Matthew 7:7-11} “And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us” Forgiveness does not come easy for many people. We like to hang on to a good grudge, running the wrong done to us through our minds over and over thinking of ways to get even or ways to return the hurt. Un-forgiveness is sin....Plain and simple. In {Matthew 6:14-15} Jesus says if we forgive men of their sins the Father will forgive us. If we decide not to forgive others the Father will not forgive us. Yes Jesus did pay the price for all our sins at the cross. Past, present and future. Again this is all about relationship. In order to stay in right relationship with God we must first name our sin, ask God to forgive us, and then forgive others as God forgave us. Harboring un-forgiveness in our hearts keeps us as well as the other person in bondage. Forgiveness is the door to freedom. When we forgive we are actually saying what you did is wrong, but I forgive, and release you from it’s penalty. Forgiveness also releases you. Find it hard to forgive? Whenever that incident arises in your mind or by word say I choose to forgive so and so. Make it part of your daily prayer, and your heart will soon follow. see part #5
