It's 8am! Should I go back to sleep?

It's public holiday here, (though as a stay at home mum, it makes not much difference to me) I decided not to set my alarm clock to get up early this morning. But, I still woke up around 3:30am (my usual wake up time). Since I was awake and not sleepy, so I just got up and thought of doing my work. It's been a few hours, but I have not started doing any work yet. I am just here browsing the interesting pins and articles, mylotting, and rolling balls of yarn. I am always having holiday mood lately. I always do not know how can the time flies so fast without me even noticing it. I thought I would go back to sleep at 6am, and it's already 8am. I wonder if I should go back to take a short nap, perhaps 30 minutes before my children wake up. Did you have a good sleep last night? Are you caught in the mylot land always?

I slept terrible last night because my daughter was scared so she slept in my bed. So today after I got my kids off to school I went back to sleep until 10:19 when my sister texted me and woke me up. There is no holiday here in the United States. What is the holiday where you are? I am a stay at home mother as well although my kids are both in school now.

I can understand most of the time our quality of sleep depends on our children. Glad that your kids went to school, so you had a bit of sleep in the morning. Sometimes I turn my mobile phone to silent mode if I am really tired and want a good sleep. I am homeschooling my children, so they are with me the whole day. Glad that now they are older (6yo and 3yo), sometimes they can play well together and I can take an afternoon nap. I am staying in Malaysia, it's Malaysia Day today.

Yes, it's too late, as I am still stuck here in mylot. I plan to take an afternoon nap if my children can play together well by themselves or with the dad, since it's public holiday, my husband doesn't need to work. So, he can spend time with the children, and I go to sleep. Now, I just enjoy my me-time as much as I can. Hope you'll get some good sleep tonight.

I slept alright. Not amazing. My little guy kept waking up every few hours. It wasn't one of the better nights, but what are you going to do?

How old is your little guy? I am glad my little girl (3yo) doesn't wake up as often as she used to be this week, so giving me sufficient sleep at night, though only a few hours. Well, I decided just stay up here, had my breakfast, mylot for just a short while, and go to do my work (programming). Hope I will be able to leave mylot land very soon.

@kaka135 my little guy is 7 months old. He still wakes up in the night. But I'm glad my girls (2 and almost 4) rarely wake up. Sometimes it happens. When you wake up you're up. Hope you had good night's sleep.

@dodo19 7 month old is still quite young, glad that your elder two girls rarely wake up. I had long afternoon nap yesterday as the children were busy spending time with the dad, and I had a good sleep last night too, as my little girl was sleeping really well and it was raining heavily. I didn't get to wake up when my alarm clock was ringing.

Hee hee - I was bad last night and I actually stayed up! The intent was not to be here, but it turned out that way - I had my fun! But as expected, it threw me off a bit today. I woke up a tad bit later than usual (thank goodness it wasn't considered late though) - and immediate had to get everyone ready for the day - and school (no time for morning computer time, which is the usual routine). No nap. And right now, I want to stay up, but my body is fighting me - so I won't fight it. A few more minutes and I will go zonk out on my pillow!

I can understand how it feels like if we sleep late, hope you had a good sleep last night. Glad that you managed to get everyone ready for the day. It can be quite stressful to be the responsible one to wake up everyone. Sometimes I don't know if it's good to have Internet access. When there is Internet, we might tend to spend more time and sleep later. But if we choose to read a book when we can't fall asleep, we might be able to sleep earlier. Anyway, I am grateful for the invention of Internet, thus I am having a lot of fun and learning a lot too.

@kaka135 I can't remember if I slept well - all the days/nights are a blur - ha ha. But a mom's duty never stops, as you know - so that at least gets done because it just has to. I know - these days there are too many reasons to stay awake - and the internet does give us too many options - makes the gears in our brains never want to stop! Yes, it's a good thing and bad thing at the same time!

Yes, I was enjoying myself - spending time in mylot and Internet, and had a nice lunch outside (to give myself a break from cooking).

Short naps are usually taken after lunch which are also called 40 winks and siesta

Yes, you are right, I just found it weird that I always go back and sleep in the morning. This is the first time I heard about 40 winks and siesta, thanks for telling me that. I learned something new today again!

A holiday would seem like an ordinary day for a single mom like me, . I slept at my usual time last night, which was around 9 to 10pm and woke up at my usual time at around 4am. It has been like that since school started, whether it's a holiday or not. And I am usually here on myLot after I am done with my chores.

Yes, I think it's almost the same for stay at home mom or single mom, but perhaps you can still sleep a bit later if the children don't need to go to school. That's like my normal routine too, but it's just that my children might not be sleeping so early though I wish they can.

I very rarely go to sleep before 4am - it's 2.20am at the moment. I just listen toi my body, and that time suits me. Because I'm retired I can get up when I like, so that's usually about 11am. I hope you manage to get through your day without falling asleep when you shouldn't

It's always good to listen to our body. I used to be a night owl, but now I think my body just can't let me handle that. If I sleep late, I will fall sick easily. So, I started to sleep early and wake up early now. I hope I can take an afternoon nap later if my children allow me to.
