Training At Work Again

I am all for ensuring people at work are all up to date with the knowledge and procedures in the area of work, but it does seem like just yesterday I went through training for my work. I was emailed today that we have more training to go through and we have to learn new procedures and processes for dealing with Finance. Oh well at least I am learning something new, even though it does seem like I was just getting used to the stuff I just learned! Do you like training sessions you get at work and what type of training do you have?

Ugh I know what you mean. In my former career, I had to be licensed and often certified in whatever new procedures. But it was constantly classes on new ways of doing things. It gets tedious especially when I would have to go in on Sunday mornings early for these. Yeah it sucked royally. But yeah always learning.

@gudheart Believe me it did, esp going in with young women slovenly with no interest in anything.

@TiarasOceanView Oh sounds like it was a tough one. Least you no longer have to worry about training sessions. :D

i love training sessions at work..if they are useful and the trainer takes it seriously, since we can really learn a lot

@lady1993 She is a very nice person, but tends to go off the subject too much which can be annoying!

We have one day of training then expected to implement them on the same day with clients...kind of scary!

As I currently work through an agency, I don't have training really. I think it's a good idea to keep up to date but sometimes it can be too much. Where I used to work, we did some training once a year (because, due to the nature of the work, it was the law), but then nothing, or we'd have loads of training all at once. I would gladly do training to help me improve at my job.

I think it will take me another few months to get used to the new procedures after training, I will feel like a newbie again.

I cannot say I had real training sessions, because I worked with my husband. But I needed to stay updated all the time with new laws and procedures.

Exactly, as law and procedures constantly need updating.

I don't really like training very much... especially when they do ' Ice breaker exercises' .. but I am happy to learn new things... especially if they are going to help me... just not the process...

Those ice breakers are really annoying! We all know each other from work so we should not have to do them again!

Where I work things constantly seem to be changing, it gets quite dizzying sometimes.

It's one thing to do training when they have new equipment but sometimes companies do odd training in things that are more related to social skills. I never enjoyed training, rather just figure it all out on my own.

I am getting training on how to use new software too, so it is important but stressful too.

I used to just hate it! I abhor change anyway. It's like I would just get everything down and start feeling comfortable with new procedures and they would up and change them. I did like getting off the phones for awhile they and taking a breather. I always tried to think about that way too. Good luck getting through it all.

thats tough, its hard to learn new stuff when you were just getting comfortable with the previous training. however, its definitely good that you keep learning new stuff, good skills to have !

I feel the yearly training can be stupid. It's the same stuff EVERY YEAR. at some point, I should be able to Test out!!!
