How do you start a conversation?

I start a conversation depends who I am talking. Usually, I always smile before I say anything. I want the person know I am glad that we are talking. It helps the conversation to be spontaneous and interesting. How about you?

I just say hello,my name is..,how are you? Then I smile and randomly ask a question. I usually let the conversation flow and if the person says statements I feel pertain to a time I experienced or moralistic values, I spill it out of my mouth. If I can't talk or don't feel like talking, I usually write out a story that has characters talking to eachother and people join in. Then since its something I like, I feel more obligated to talk and let a conversation go on.

I'm not that methodical about such things. I just let the conversation happen naturally. How it actually starts depends largely on the situation and the people involved.
