An Appreciation of Life

We all go through life not really knowing what it is all about.
We spend all of our minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years here on Earth wishing we were someone else, wishing we were somewhere else.
Do we actually appreciate every breath that we take, every time our hearts beat. Do we ever stop to think how delicate and wonderful life really is.
There is too much of this, there is not enough of that ,it is an endless journey to nowhere but if we would only take day by day what we have been given, live, live in total tranquility with our minds, our soul, our body, our thoughts, our emotions.
Many of us do not realize how precious life is until that last breath, until that last heart beat, do not exist upon this Earth, ,we live as we see, as we feel, as we think, as we allow ourselves to live.
Let's always look in a positive vision of what each day has brought to us. The privilege and pleasure of opening our eyes after a sleep, after a rest to make our minds and bodies, hearts, our Soul refreshed for a new day of life, not just existence.
Existence is the appreciation of tranquility, tranquility of our lake of smoothness, our skies of blue, our calm winds, the warmth of the sun, our thoughts towards our fellow humans, our fellow creatures, birds, fish, the appreciation of Mother Earth, of Mother Nature herself.
We live upon this Earth as chosen ones, we are not just inadvertently hatched from an egg, we are placed as living, breathing individuals upon this Earth to live.
However we decide to look upon the grass, prairie, however we vision leaves on a tree, if it is too wet ,too windy, too dry, calm, that is what has been given to us.
We should appreciate whatever has been given and receive it with all we have in us.

Marcy! Wow this is so beautiful and so very applicable too.
I try so hard to be grateful if nothing else everyday, that is my main thought when bad thoughts come.
I do know how blessed and lucky I am to be alive each day and I have tried to also instill that in my son too.
My Mother also passed on to me that gratefulness.
Thankful to be here and also always chasing that quiet tranquility
I am grateful to know you too my friend.Never take you for granted.
I am also glad to see that myLot is back up haha

First off I don't think every one does what you say. Wishing we were someone else. Maybe, early on. Appreciate every breath? You bet! I think we do take our lives for granted. Sometimes it takes some of us having something bad happen to really realize how great we have it. I totally agree with the last sentence you typed.

I totally agree with that...We have to make the moist of what we have.Life is too short and before we know it will all be over. There is no point in regretting during your later years that you could have done this or that,,,Do whatever you want to do Today ! Most people waste time worrying about their misfortune , if instead they look for solutions, their situation might change for the better ..

there is evil and there is good all you have to do is look outside your door or look at the news to see that.

Very nice post. I applaud you. For starters I don't think we are chosen or placed here. We are just born. As for experiencing the minute to minute of life, I have been doing that the last few years. All the years I feel that I wasted are now over. I was more concerned with my day to day tasks than I was with actually living for who I am. So what if I cannot have everything or go everywhere. I am content in the fact that I know who I am and deal with whatever comes up in my daily life. Tranquil, though I wish it were more tranquil, I am fine with how it is right now. I have what I need. Yes, there are still things I want, but I live for what I need. it seems to have been working for me.

Wow your so right, we often don't see life and appreciate the beauty of what we have around us. We are often to blind to see, it's only when we step down and relax and the another look we see things we don't normally do in our busy lives there days. We should appreciate life more and take time out.

I shared this on my Facebook-page 'sight-unseen' (i.e. immediately, before I even scrolled-down to read it!).
I don't know if any of the Commandments (from 'Be Fruitful & Multiply' to 'Love God') said anything-specific about "appreciating" (though appreciation does lead one to try to be more-obedient!)
Funny how you can't appreciate what you have now unless 1) you had worse before or 2) you lose it.

@Marcyaz That's where we need to identify ourselves as 'not OUR selves'---as more like 'servants of the Lord, tools for manifesting his will' ... couples-in-Christ REALLY ARE "Islands in a Stream"---oh, we are better, stronger tools the longer our islands stay united; but the force that unites them is our singularity-of-purpose!

The only thing I wish for is perpetual summer LOL! Other than that I am perfectly happy and content with where we are in our lives. Every day is just what we want it to be.

I think some, once things slow down in our lives, start to appreciate the quiet and slowness after the little ones leave the nest. I am not there yet but can see the appeal, not that I am not enjoying life now, it is just a little crazy. great post.
