I Am a Writing Machine

I haven't written much on myLot today, although I did spend quite a lot of time on interaction. But for a couple of days, I have let my blogs lie dormant and every day I don't write, is a day I don't earn.
But oh my, it's so easy to be lazy. It takes almost no effort at all to expend no effort at all.
It can cause a bit of anxiety, however.
So today, I just scolded myself and made myself write. Without inspiration, without an idea. Without even a cup of coffee.
And you know, if you don't write, you won't write. The journey of a thousand pages begins with one word.
So, I just started typing. And I did it. Two blog posts in the bag. And now one post on myLot. My, that's a lot. I am a writing machine! Yeah!
Now, I think I deserve coffee.

yepperz, sometimes ya jest gotten tighten up yer belt ('r put on comfy jammies...) 'n jest get with it. i've much guilt from the past 'f all the trees that perished whilst i was writin' back in the day. these new founded gadgets (word processors) 've sure saved lots 'f rough drafts windin' up 's fire starters in the woodburner.

@DaddyEvil Stephen King threw Carrie into the wastebasket. His wife pulled the manuscript back out and with some of her suggestions, and some rewriting, Mr. King pulled off his first success and one of his most endearing hits of all time. Behind every successful writer is someone who once believed.

(Gasp!) You threw them OUT or BURNED them, @crazyhorseladycx?! But... But... Those could have been the beginnings of your Great American Novel! And you destroyed them! (teasing!)
Yeah, mistakes make the best fire starters, in my opinion!

@DaddyEvil yepperz, i did! i've done a few 'f those actually 'n cringe 't the thought - all those hand written notes, scribbles, doodles, 'n then off to the ancient typewriter with eraser in hand 'n still wasted paper with o'erhauls 'til they were done. much more environmentally friendly these days. though, i must confess, i still print 'em out 'n scribble all o'er 'em in moot attempts 't doin' some pre-editin'....but, 'least i can send in 'clean' manuscripts 'n let the real editor do 'er job.

not being able to write or know what to write is something to write down in itself - the very frustration of not getting started can get us started

@Rollo1 Yeah, I guess I killed my first thread because some friends came over right after I posted it. (And then stayed for two full days!) I felt bad about abandoning it, but I was trying to be a good host.
Well, until they stayed the second day, at least. That's when I came back on here!

@DaddyEvil That's why I don't think it's a good strategy to write ten posts in a row or anything. I prefer to write and then interact. I may write once a day or maybe twice.

Yaaaay! Go for that coffee, girl! What's interaction? Is that a writing site similar to this one? I have recently started a couple blogs myself. I haven't been feeling real energetic lately and it's very easy to let them sit stagnant. I too have to drag myself back to it again. Kudos to you for getting back on track.

I would have to agree with you, you certainly did earn your coffee this time around! Now, about earning your next meal...
What are your blogs about? Would I be interested in reading them? Following you on them? Shouting to the world about what I read there? (Just curious.)

@DaddyEvil I have a cooking blog, but it contains no recipes for tea. To my knowledge, I am not anyone's cup of tea. I yam what I yam, says Popeye

@Rollo1 I haven't heard of that site. I have made a note about it. I will see if I can find your blogs after while. After all, your writing style is entertaining, so your blogs can't be all bad, even if they turn out not to be my cup of tea, so to speak. (No offense intended.)

@Rollo1 you can do it! I've done it every year since 2000 give or take. When you break it down into pieces it;s easier, 2k a day and you will be done early!

Do have the many coffees that you deserve.Often writing about not being able to write helps us to write and post.We have to just start writing. ''If I waited for perfection....I would never write a word.'' Margaret Atwood.
