Today i see some video go viral at Facebook, where this kid like being beaten by the cops just because of the jay walking :D Then many cops come just to arrest one kid. I feel pity to that kid to he cry and i not see what is the point but the title is that Jay walking . By the way what is that jay walking ? It is a crime to walk like jay or what?

it is definitely a crime, but not one that is so serious where police are allowed to beat you up

Yes not enough with one cop, he call more cops just to get one small kid, even the other people around shout to the cops also just being ignore

@etavasi i think even the kid can sue - but i do not really believe in the system..so i guess they will still go unpunished

Jaywalking means crossing the road without following the regulations. It is of course irritating for the other road users but what was the need for the police to baton hit the kid? It is just too much!

Yes so pity to the kid, i wonder if the jaywalking law also apply in our country or not because i always cross road not use the bridge too.

@etavasi The town board or city hall officers could issue summon to people who is not following the by-laws.

It's a citation, meaning they can give you a ticket, and you have to pay a fine. I watched the video, and I think the cops were way out of line. I bet if it were a white kid they would have handled it differently.

How cruel can these cops be . Just for jaywalking they have to hit the kid ! Can they just not reprimand him , not hit him . Actually , if that happens here , they can be sued for doing that , right ?
