Sites that test you before joining up

I have recently joined 3 earning sites which give you an english grammar test before allowing you to join and I can't say I'm very impressed. (I'm not sure if we are supposed to name other sites here).
Now I understand they want high quality posts and there's nothing wrong with that but it really is such a mission even when you are approved. One site where you join many forums gave me a low rating because I didn't follow instructions on one of the forums I subscribed to, another has so little to post on it isn't worth it and the third I'm still waiting to hear from.
Give me an uncomplicated site like MyLot any day, just somewhere I can join and interact with people. All I want is an easy life and a little extra cash in my pocket. Does anyone else feel the same?

the only one i can think of is postloop. they say you need to submit 10 trial posts first and that you get rated but that you could also dispute them. not my kind of environment. i also avoid sites where there are 'levels' to be achieved.

Yes I think I've learned my lesson now and will stick to sites where there are people like me. This site is exactly my kind of thing.

I don't think I would want to be apart of a forum that has to "test" you to be part of it.

We were encouraged to join postloop here a few years ago, I had a look at the site and never joined/tried the 10 posts test. If a writer is good enough he/she will look more towards newspapers/magazines/books publishers than towards online sites to earn. The common price paid for a page in a magazine in my country is about $100...
Some authors might have found a niche by auto-publishing e-books and earn as much as they would get with author's rights from a regular paper publisher, or earn well with online magazines, but certainly not with writing sites.
I like myLot because it is not at all an elitist site, and it accepts people from all over the world without any consideration about their ability to write in English. This site is about discussing and sharing opinions, and it is what makes its interest.

@topffer That's exactly what I have found about MyLot. I don't know why but I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. It is indeed a site for everyone.

If it took some of my time to apply I would want a little assurance that there would be a return for my effort.
I remember once when I joined this forum only after reading many of the posts and getting a feel for the site. It was easy to join up but I had not noticed the dates on the posts. No one had posted there since the wheel was invented.

I belong to the Forum Wheel which tests you and I post there every day although most of the forums they have on their site are outside my understanding.. I also belong to Postloop but there's just something about that site I don't like. I prefer simplicity like MyLot. Join and start posting.

I do see where you are coming from, though I also see why there are those out there. Most of the ones that have the tests are actual clients paying for the work that you do for their job or whatever it may be so the writing standard has to be a little higher than it would be here. I like the freedom here but i do understand why they have to have th others lke that.

Oh yes I absolutely agree with you but I do this as much for fun as for money so don't want the pressure of wondering whether my work is good enough. I didn't find Postloop fun at all.

@sprite1950 I actually never checke out postloop but i am on a few sites that you had to pass the test before you could join. I use to need the money more than i do now so I would do that. I enjoy the client work actually as well but honestly love to be able to lay back, relax and have fun without all the stress.

They want people with excellent english grammar skills because their clients are paying for us to write on their sites. Too much pressure for me.

I think I know the sites you mean. One turned me down, another wasn't worth the effort once they accepted me and the other one never got back to me suggesting a similar eternal delay getting paid. If they set standards they should live up to them too.

Hello Arthur - you keep popping up! I got accepted by Postloop and The Forum Wheel but Paid Forum Posting haven't got back to me. I think I will stick to sites that you can just register and post straight away.

Yes, I agree. The more complicated, the less I get interested. I joined different sites that have that testing, one site though, isn't for writing - there is an application before I got hired.

I wasn't sure if I could mention them but I can as long as I don't refer people. The sites I'm thinking of are Postloop, The Forum Wheel and Paid Forum Posting. You have to submit test posts before you are approved.
