When do you start your Holiday Shopping?

It seems like holiday shopping starts earlier every year. I do try to get a few things out of the way over time, but I don't like to shop early, or at least not too early. I find that I just end up spending more when I do that.
I'll have things set aside for a person, and think I'm done buying gifts for him or her, and then I'll end up finding something else I just "have to" get for them. So, it kind of defeats the purpose, if I shop too much or too far ahead.
What's your holiday shopping strategy? Do you already have gifts set aside? I know some people who have already shopped and even started gift wrapping!

Wow! I wouldn't be daring enough to do that, but still... I like it!

I usually decide what I am going to get for someone ahead of time, then I usually start Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving. Some people think that is too late but it has worked for me the past 4-5 years.

I guess we have to do whatever works best for us. I just hope I don't start hearing Christmas music in the stores in the coming few weeks. They seem to push Christmas shopping earlier and earlier every year, don't they?
