Sore arm

Yesterday I went to the doctors for a routine blood test to check my thyroid, today (and last night) I've been left with a sore arm.
The entire thing didn't quite go to plan. The appointment itself was about 10 minutes late, which is really nothing, except the hold up turned out to be a problem with the previous appointment.
The one before me was an elderly lady, who looked with my untrained eye reasonably ok when she went into her appointment, but something had gone wrong as it ended with them calling an ambulance to take her to hospital. I hope she's ok.
For me it meant the nurse took me into a different room from hers, she couldn't get on the computer to check my details so she just knew it was for my thyroid. No problem I said it's just my yearly check. She quickly found a vein, put the needle in (which hurt more than normal) and that was that. She did apologies for the rush, and I said it couldn't be helped.
Than she stuck the cotton wool to my arm with their funny tape (I normally get a plaster) and took my vial of blood unlabelled back to her office. I left with my dad a bit confused.
My initial concern was will my blood end up labelled and in the right place? I can only hope so.
My later concern was, what did she do to my arm, it doesn't normally hurt after a blood test.
None of this year seems to quite be going to plan, sigh.
Still at least I'm healthy

Never got a sore arm from having blood taken, maybe she tied the tourniquet too tightly ? Sounds like a very confusing day at that doctor's office. Hope they don't mislabel your blood - who knows what you could end up being tested for?
