After a Parrot-Its A Goat

The police in the Indian state of Maharashtra, seem to have a penchant of overdoing it. After locking up a parrot for abusing an old woman, now they have, 'arrested', a goat, of all things! They actually caught the thief with the goat, and locked both of them in custody. Only when details of the incident, went viral on WhatApp, did that they release the goat. But still insisted on keeping the goat in observation. I am not sure, if you might have come across something like that, but in case you have, please feel free to share.

Arrested animals, no. Taken into custody because it was illegal to have them, yes. For example, year before last, in an egregious abuse of power, authorities in Wisconsin sent in a Swat team to retrieve a baby deer from a rescue: They held the volunteers at gunpoint, and took the deer and euthanized it. The rescue was going to send the deer to a rescue in another state where it was legal to have her.
WISN 12 News investigates an operation raising questions about the use of government resources and the state policy that meant a death sentence for a fawn.

I would think that having a goat in custody might be a bit smelly. I am not surprised the goat was freed.

The held it overnight, and were unwilling to let it go, even the next day. The must've tied it in some portion of the police station.

Yes Judy, the cops here can be a law onto themselves, when they become headstrong.
