PM Modi stated I quote "if we had recognized urbanisation as an opportunity 25 years ago, we could have been at par with developed world today. But better late than never"
By this, PM Modi meant that the very basic problem which is inhibiting India's growth is poverty. While only 40% of the people live in urban areas, they are the ones who get access to basic amenities like proper sanitation, water supply, well equipped house etc. Rest of the citizens living in rural areas are deprived of these.
By launching Smart Cities Mission, it is believed that many rural areas would be gradually converted into urban areas, thus flourishing these areas with basic life needs. With urbanisation, it is also meant the opening of schools with 24*7 electricity supply and the availability of washrooms. Hence, the term urbanisation is a whole pack of needs which a normal person requires to live in an urban area.
Moreover, 90% of the Indian population have belief that our Prime Minister is not at all corrupted. So whatever he would do, it would be for the betterment of the economy as well as for the citizens. So, the Smart Cities Mission is a hope to make India a developed country which would be possible only under a good leadership of ministers.
