Why I feel less stress here

I was an old-time member of myLot, but like many of you, I spent some time at another site. About a year and a half. In fact, I am still there, but very sparingly now.
I like to jump in, write something, then load up all my friends' posts and read, one after another. Opening too many tabs here can result in a timeout error or two, but refreshing always fixes that. When I comment, it goes through instantly. I write, I hit the button, the comment appears.
Not quite so simple on the other site. Comments take ages to go through, pages take ages to load. The impatience builds. I feel frustrated and stressed.
Now this is a personal problem, but I can't stand waiting for computers to do things. It's not like I have the swiftest computer in the world, but most websites load pretty quickly. Not so on that other site. And those ten or twenty seconds spent waiting for pages to load, and comments to go through are agony for me. Physical agony.
I get an impatient gnawing in my gut. I want to leave the site in disgust. I feel frustrated as I try to fulfill my obligations to my friends there. Don't tell me I don't have a duty to interact with them, I do. If it's a community, we all need to support each other. And we do. But the site doesn't support us.
I know that a person should not experience physical discomfort because of a website that loads slowly. I know, I am uber impatient. It's a personal problem. Whatever.
All I know, is that I feel so much less stress here with a website that has just as many ads, but is a hundred times more responsive.
MyLot may just save lives by reducing stress. Just sayin'.

It's good as long as the next wave of spammers doesn't follow us here, then things will be slower for a bit.

@Rollo1 It probably wouldn't stop them from trying.

@OneOfMany it is faster to get rid of them here. There are plenty of spammers, plagiarists and cheats for all the websites to share.

I get really impatient as well, and I have been having some internet connection problems lately too. It might be that there are too many devices on my wifi, but it doesn't just slow down, it will reset itself completely and knock all of us offline for awhile. So I really don't need any further headache than that!

@Rollo1 We need a new router forsure. Now that all the kids have cell phones, and hubby plays online video games, there's just not enough to go around!

Technology's aim is to help us save time - I agree about the 2.8second attention-span (or similar figure) after which impatience sets-in and the urge to go look at something else wins out. I had not realised just how treacle-like, slow, the big B is until seeing how zippy this site is!

Oh, it's even worse after you've been here for a while and try to go back. For the first week here, I kept sitting and waiting after submitting a comment, even though it had gone through. I had a timer built into my sub-conscious. It took me days and days to get over that needless waiting out of habit.

You and I would get on well together as I have the patience of a flea. I hate the slowness of the other site and have trailed off greatly of late.

I haven't been back over there since the errors started to go out of control. Obviously I haven't been on here much either. It's hard enough for me to do one site, two is way harder. I agree, there is less stress but I find that unless you suggest your post to someone they may not see it. I don't get the views here that I get/got over there.

I don't know what other site you are talking about! No, I am tag-illiterate!

I hear ya. I get stressed too. It seems like a little thing, but really, over the course of a day, all those seconds add up. They quickly become minutes, and those minutes add up.

This is the only site like this, that I am a member of. I also like the fact, tha pages do load fast, and the comments show up immediately. I think that alone helps us to earn faster, as they are told right away, and if they are here, they will see it, and comment back, which leads to more interaction and more earnings over all.

I hate waiting for pages to load and I understand your agony.
I don't use the other site and I am happy that myLot is loading fast. I do the same with the multiple tabs, I open a tab with each discussion I like and then go through them one by one.

@Rollo1 I run multiple windows, hop around and play FB games on the side, that way if it's being slow, I move to something else and come back. Plus can have several pages loading at once.

What's the other site and is it the same as myLot? If it's slow though, then maybe I shouldn't join. Some website as so slow and you have to breath in and out because I have had thoughts of just throwing the computer against the wall.

I feel the same way as you . I feel like i still have an obligation to my friends there , who hasn't jumped in here yet . But the site's error : i can't log in again , is what making me decide i just stick here.

its jest a more relaxed environment entirely, aint it? dunno how long that'll last though. i've kinda acquired a metallic taste 'fter my limited 'xperience with these 'writin' sites'. kinda makes me feel like a well trained flea in'n imaginary circus.
