the islamic state terrorist group is raging through all of iraq and syria and they are the cause of the deaths of hundreds and thousands of people . do you think UN isn't doing anything about it because some underlying political reason is involved? and some people believe they are even a bigger threat than Al Qaeda.

It is not as easy to wage wars. Lives are lost, and that is a hostile terrain. They need people out there to help them. When Iraq attacked Kuwait, the operation was swift. Afghanistan operation was expected to be short, but it dragged on for years, like the Vietnam war. Part of the economic woes in the US are due to the war, which thankfully Obama has stopped, and economic downtrend reversal is slowly becoming visible. Usually the word UN becomes synonymous with the US, UK, Australia, France, and Germany. Other forces are rarely thought of.

It is for every nation to take charge. People divide themselves by skin, religious, nations. That division makes every one of us weak, allowing the bad things to get in. All the people of world will have to take charge together. Or it will never end.

well, if america cared about the hostile terrain they wouldn't attack iraq when Bush was president. and obama stopped because he claimed that he would return american army from iraq, which is more like a political obligation. but IS are controlling the main oil facilities in iraq, if they are not dealt with the crisis will soon be at its crescendo..and nothing can be done. how often do you see a terorist group dares to attack directly a whole country.

I personally think we should stop giving them more inner power. the moment we stop caring about them they are going to be less strong. that happens with almost every type of the groups. the moment you stop giving such weight. it is going to be helping you one way or the another for sure.

but nobody even knew about them few years ago..now they almost decimated iraq. i think thats the problem..people don't seem to be worrying about them..but what if htey decide to attack another country. maybe that country will be able to drive them back..but what about the body count..a lot of people will die..

@shubho666 I am only afraid that ,Pakistan don't give them nuclear weapons.Rest they are no match. But they are targeting "soft Indians" who feel they are left out in the society. And this a dangerous prospect.

@shubho666 ..I agree. That is because they did not do anything that would make them noticeable. I guess they said one fine day "enough is enough" and from then on, we are becoming aware of them.

I don't think the world leaders want them stopped. They are allowed to continue in order to decrease the world's population. Why else would nations continue to fund them. It will be up to each person to stop them once faced with them or die trying. Just my opinion...

@shubho666 it is everyone's concern. We are all part of this world. What happens on the other side will eventually come around to this side. Power is the key word here. Everyone wants power, it's a game I think, between politicians. The one who wins will be the one who hits the hardest and the people are the ones who fill the pain while they laugh and start a new game. I often wonder if the people of the world know they hold all the power. Where would the leaders be if the people were not working? What could they rule if all the people just said no. No one rules if no one obeys.

@Jadedjinn so IS are just pawns to some greater game...may be they are..but think what all the hostile muslim community has accomplished to make their religion superior...and i dont know what could they possibly achieve by killing people and destroying home...

interesting opinion which unfortunately is true i think. if the world leaders wanted them to be stopped they would've done something at the very beginning when they were on the rise. but this could become a problem now everyone is thinking that whatever is happening in an arabian territory isn't our concern but if this problem remains unattended could really change the balance of power.

There is every possibility that the "Islamic State" will fall apart all by itself. Many of the recruits who left western countries to join IS have expressed their dissatisfaction with what they have found and are seeking to leave. The difficulty here is that returners will be suspected of being potential terrorists and be arrested as soon as they set foot in the countries that they left.

They are mentally sick people with medieval desert mentality. They should be dealt with ruthlessly because logic will not cut ice with them.

well..its pretty simple that they do not follow logic..they are getting their resources from somewhere..that needs to be cut off..
