Just a moment ago as I am checking my notifications,I found a new response in my old discussion.
Other response says nice recipe then the other says -craving.I found it very short, those short responses is a silent interaction and not worth reading.I find it a spam and worst is they are from my country.
Have you experience having short responses to any of your discussion?

Sorry @cgalavia the other response is just me pulling your leg, so please @LadyDuck don't report me and get me kicked off :(
Most of the kind of comments I get end up being longer than a lot of posts are. One thing I have noticed though is I tend to follow people who have the same problem as I do, and that is they all write far more than the minimum required.
The people and posts that interest me are written by interesting people who more often than not value the interaction over the chance of making a few pennies.
I know that such short responses are against the rules but I also know that some people find writing online for all to see a little intimidating. I personally am just glad that they have taken the time to make a response albeit a short one.

@maggs224 I know that some people are a bit intimidated and I do not always report short responses, even if I know that are against the rules. I always check the profiles first, I can make the difference from a normal users and those who are around only to "cheat". I have seen so many on the other sites. The only thing I want to avoid is that spammers and plagiarists damage this site as they did in the past to others.

@LadyDuck yes it's difficult sometimes to draw a line... and it is something we need to keep on top of .... spammers and cheats....

I don't mind a short minimalist reply if it is relevant and shows the writer read what I wrote - nice recipe is ok for a recipe feature, but just yes, no, ok, etc. if on every post replied to is no good.

a one word response is a bit short... but I don't mind short or long comments... in some cases though it could be seen as spammy....

@sueznewz2 if the comments is long and yet the comment is quite irrelevant to the topic is also disappointing. There are some comments that is not really drawing much attention.

I have, but not all that much, as most of the time, the response is very relevant to the discussion. I do comment to all responses though, as i want to keep the interaction going, but I do agree that some are probably not worth commenting on.

Yes, even recently I still receive that typical comment. May be she/ he is not excited to have further interaction

I have not come across such responses to any my discussions. I guess there maybe one or two but that would be after the same person has made four or five comments/responses earlier and is responding further in the discussion. I don't min that at all. However just, nice , good etc may really annoy me.

I don't think so, but I don't have that many discussions posted yet. Responses like that annoy me, especially if it's a response to a long post. I think people should at least give a meaningful input in their response or comment rather than just a few words to let the author know that they've read the post.
