Worst Chat-Up Line?

Supposing you are a girl, what would your reaction be if these were the first words a fella said to you? :
''I'm going to drink until you look good to me'' .
Would you be offended, punch him on the nose - or laugh, like I did?
I was used to men treating me with deference, so this one was certainly different. I actually loved his sense of humour, and thought he was hilarious.
The long and short of it is that I married him, and he can still make me laugh over 50 years later.
When first I met this man of mine,
He didn't say ''You look divine'',
Instead he thought I looked a fright
But if he drank, I'd look alright.
What's the worst chat-up line you've heard, whether you were receiving or giving it?

Oh my! The cool thing is you have a great sense of humor - some gals would have taken that completely the wrong way! I probably would have laughed it off too and maybe said "Keep drinking and then go look in the mirror - see if YOU look any better!" ha ha! Well, you know how I always have to deal with being Asian-American . . . I've often gotten the "Where are you from?" line in which I answer "The Valley" (in the Los Angelea area)

@crazyhorseladycx That one you can't share must have been gross - did you wallop him?
Yes, humour and a love of life are great ingredients in any marriage, and I've been lucky.

That would have put me off as I always thought I was not pretty anyway and someone confirming it!!!!
I never have had any online chats per se but this line that my husband uttered when I had prepared a dish for him when we were just married, is etched in my memory. He said "Its nice but please do not make it again"

@allknowing I'm so sorry, I don't know how I missed this. I do make a point of responding, but I don't think that I could have had a notification of this.
Anyway, that's funny what your husband said to you . Did you get upset, or did it amuse you?

I am glad that all ended well. It would have most likely hurt my feelings.

@RasmaSandra Oh my, that's a bad one . You are one of the few of my female responders who have found the remark to me to be humorous.

@jaboUK Love your limerick. I too would have looked at a line like that as an attempt at humor. The worst line would have to be when a guy could not decide if he liked me or not and he said - I could take you or leave you.

Looks shouldn't matter in a relationship but I am not sure that I could be in a serious relationship with someone who used that particularly line. I'd feel insulted / offended. Hey glad you guys are still going strong after so much time though, laughter is a great companion to love.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It all depends on your sense of humour, doesn't it? Of course, if he'd said it so I thought he meant it I'd have been offended too.

I would never use cheesy chat up lines. Many lads just look them up online and use them mechanically like a magic cue card that guarantees results. It usually results in disappointment. Spontaneity and sincerity should work better, not a line that sounds like a guy uses it on fifty girls until one responds more positively to it.

@jaboUK Personally, I’d be offended. Only because I have a low self-esteem. Even if he was joking, I’d be paranoid thinking there was truth behind the joke. I do have a good sense of humour but stuff like that just makes me feel anxious and like I want to hide.
I don’t even know the worst one I’ve had lol I’ve had too many things said to me. Some that actually came close to me vomiting. And I’m not exaggerating here. I’ve had people try and say nice yet cringe worthy things like “Your eyes shine brighter than the stars in the night sky” lol it just….to cheesy for me.
